The invention discloses a watermelon planting method. The method includes steps: high-quality
seedling cultivation including variety selection, namely selecting early-ripe, high-
disease-resistant, high-quality, high-yield and premature-senility-resistant watermelon variety available for long-season cultivation; heat preservation, to be more specific, controlling the watermelon
seedling growth temperature at 21 DEG C and not lower than 15 DEG C, wherein in order to provide an appropriate growth temperature for the seedlings,
electric heating wires need to be laid on a
seedbed at intervals of 8cm while temperature rising measures including
mulch spreading, double low-tunnel mulching and
greenhouse mulching, and boiler heating is adopted in necessity. The watermelon planting method has advantages that firstly, the
seedling growth temperature is guaranteed, so that low seedling
disease rate is realized; secondly, temperature conditions required by growth of watermelons are met, so that early marketing can be realized; finally, labor efficiency can be improved while
water consumption is reduced, watermelon interior quality is improved, simplicity, practicality and effectiveness are achieved, and a promising utilization prospect can be realized.
