Method for driving an ultrasonic system to improve acquisition of blade resonance frequency at startup

The ability of an ultrasonic system to sweep and lock onto a resonance frequency of a blade subjected to a heavy load at startup is improved by applying a high drive voltage or a high drive current while systematically increasing the level of the applied signal. Increasing the drive signal to the hand piece results in an improved and more pronounced “impedance spectrum.” That is, under load, the increased drive signal causes the maximum phase margin to become higher and the minimum / maximum impedance magnitude to become more pronounced. Increasing the excitation drive signal to the hand piece / blade at startup significantly alleviates the limiting factors associated with ultrasonic generators, which results in an increase of the maximum load capability at startup.

Devices and articles generally configured as double shoulder strap systems for supporting loads to be carried at ones side are presented. Dual shoulder straps are arranged to cooperate with the human body shapes and human body motions for aiding in carrying heavy loads at ones side or hip. A first strap, a proximal strap is arranged with a special shape in view of the loading direction placed upon the strap and the shape of the should onto which the strap lies. A second strap, a distal strap similarly is arranged with consideration for the loading direction and shape of the should upon which it is intended to lie. The straps are coupled together at a sewn joint with particular care for properly transmitting force evenly. The proximal strap is adjustable in length whereby its position in relation to the distal strap may be changed. A second adjustment is made whereby the positions of the two straps together are adjusted at once. Finally the system is terminated in quick release clips to allow easy fastening and unfastening from various sorts of objects or loads.

Throttle control for small engines and other applications

The throttle of an engine in an engine driven generator system operating under an intermittently heavy load, as in supplying current to a welder, is controlled such that successive control signals sent to a throttle actuator for adjusting the engine throttle position are inhibited until at least a predetermined time has elapsed since the last preceding adjustment to the throttle. This procedure ensures that, as to each incremental adjustment to the throttle, the engine has sufficient time to respond, thereby preventing over-speeding or stalling the engine. The throttle actuator may be a stepper motor which is stepped by throttle position change signals from a processor which monitors engine speed and generator load to determine whether the throttle should be adjusted and, if so, in which direct. Alternatively, the throttle actuator may be a solenoid pulling against a spring in accordance with the average current through the solenoid coil. In this embodiment, the processor causes pulse width modulated signals to be applied across the solenoid coil with throttle position changes being reflected in changes to the width of the pulses, such changes in the pulse width being delayed for at least the predetermined time since the last preceding adjustment to the throttle.

Handle and top handle reinforcement for a paperboard carton

A fully enclosed carton for carrying heavy loads with a reinforcement insert for the handle apertures located in the top end flaps of the carton. The paperboard reinforcing insert may be extended as a bridge across the top panel of the carton to prevent tearing of the handle apertures in the top end flaps and also tearing in the top panel of the carton when carrying a heavy load. The carton may have one or more dispensers in the top panel which may extend into an adjoining side panel. Multiple tear lines may be formed for the dispenser flap in the insert that extends across the top panel to permit easy access to the containers, such as bottles, in the carton.The paperboard reinforcing insert may have a larger aperture than the handle aperture in each top end flap to adjust for any imprecision in the alignment of the paperboard insert in forming the carton sleeve from the paperboard blank. When the paperboard insert extends across the top panel and one or more dispensers are formed in the top panel, multiple tear lines may be used to form the flaps in the insert to compensate for any imprecision in the insertion of the insert that extends across the top panel into the carton sleeve when it is being formed.

The present invention discloses a forward-flyback converter with active-clamp circuit. The secondary side of the proposed converter is of center-tapped configuration to integrate a forward circuit and a flyback circuit. The flyback sub-circuit operating continuous conduction mode is employed to directly transfer the reset energy of the transformer to the output load. The forward sub-circuit operating discontinuous conduction mode can correspondingly adjust the duty ratio with the output load change. Under the heavy load condition, the mechanism of active-clamp flyback sub-circuit can provide sufficient resonant current to facilitate the parasitic capacitance of the switches to be discharged to zero. Under the light load condition, the time interval in which the resonant current turns from negative into positive is prolonged to ensure zero voltage switching function. Meanwhile, the flyback sub-circuit wherein the rectifier diode is reverse biased is inactive in order to further reduce the power losses.

A flow responsive dump valve mechanism for a straddle packer tool and has a valve controlled flow passage from which underflushed fluid, typically well treatment slurry, in a conveyance and fluid supplying tubing string can be dumped into a well casing. Efficient handling of download requests

A server is capable of receiving large numbers of concurrent download requests, establishing TCP sessions with each client. A copy of the socket of each session, together with descriptor information of the file requested are transferred to a download manager, and the original connection immediately closed. The connection to the client remains open via the copy of the socket, which is then converted to a non-blocking socket by the download manager converts to copy of the socket to a non-blocking socket, and downloads the requested information to the client using the non-blocking socket and its own connection to the server. The arrangement is capable of dealing with loads that would ordinarily overwhelm the server's capability of establishing and maintaining individual TCP sessions with its clients. Heavy loads, including bursty peak loads, are handled gracefully, without causing the server to stall, or to refuse connections.

Owing to the property of bidirectional conduction under the saturation mode, synchronous rectifiers in conventional power converters usually suffer from a reverse current under light loads or a shoot-through current under heavy loads. The reverse current may degrade the converter efficiency and the shoot-through current may damage synchronous rectifiers. The present invention discloses a unidirectional metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor (UMOS), which comprises a metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor (MOS), a current detection circuit and a fast turn-off circuit. The current detection circuit detects the direction of the current flowing through the MOS. When a forward current is detected, the fast turn-off circuit is disabled and the channel of the MOS can be formed. When a reverse current is detected, the fast turn-off circuit is enabled and the channel of the MOS cannot be formed. This UMOS can be applied, but not limited, to synchronous rectifiers to detect the occurrence of a reverse current or a shoot-through current and fast turn off the channel of the MOSFET.

The invention discloses a method for handling an address resolution protocol (ARP) packet, and access equipment and a communication system thereof. The method comprises the following steps: access equipment receives an ARP packet through a lower interface, which carries an active Internet protocol (IP) address, a source media access control (MAC) address, a destination IP address and a destination MAC address; the access equipment judges whether the source IP address is the same as the IP address of gateway equipment configured on the lower interface, and the upper interface of the access equipment is connected with the gateway equipment; if the source IP address is the same as the IP address of gateway equipment, the access equipment discards the ARP packet; and if the source IP address is different from the IP address of gateway equipment, the access equipment forwards the ARP packet according to the destination IP address in the ARP packet. The embodiment of the invention can prevent the ARP packet which is deceived by an illegal host and passes through the gateway equipment of not performing ARP spoofing with respect to the gateway equipment, without imposing heavier load upon the gateway equipment.

Control method and circuit of double-module modulation and mode smooth conversion switching power supply

The invention relates to a control scheme of double-module operation of a direct current switching power supply, which is used for direct current voltage stabilization and improves the efficiency whenthe power supply is in underloading. Under heavier load, a system adopts a pulse width modulation (PWM) mode. When in underloading, the system automatically enters a pulse frequency modulation (PFM)mode, and outputs stable direct current voltage according to detected current and load voltage by corresponding logic. Under the PFM mode, equivalent switching frequency of the power supply is loweredfollowing the reduction of the load, and the switching loss is reduced, thereby improving the efficiency when in underloading. When the load is jumped, the system automatically performs the smooth transition between the PFM mode and the PWM mode and ensures the rapid dynamic response of the output voltage. Under the PWM mode, the system integrates feedforward control of the input voltage and increases the capacity of resisting the jump of the input voltage by the load voltage. The invention is suitable to power supply control of a portable media player, an intelligent mobile phone, a load point power supply and the like.
