Implants with integration surfaces having regular repeating surface patterns

An interbody spinal implant, such as a solid-body or composite implant. The implant has at least one integration surface with a roughened surface topography including a repeating pattern, without sharp teeth that risk damage to bone structures, adapted to grip bone through friction generated when the implant is placed between two vertebral endplates and to inhibit migration of the implant. The repeating pattern is formed of at least three at least partially overlapping repeating patterns. The repeating patterns may radiate at a fixed distance from at least one point and may include recesses having a slope of thirty degrees or less relative to the integration surface. Also disclosed are processes of fabricating the integration surfaces.

Maxillary sinus bone augmentation with resorbable bone pack

The bone inferior to the maxilla sinus cavity of a patient is augmented, irrespective of the physical integrity of the Schneiderian membrane, by a resorbable package or vessel that contains granularized bone. The package is matched to be resorbed at about the time the desired bone augmentation is achieved. If an entry is available in the vessel, the ratio of the largest dimension of the vessel entry to the length of the vessel is less than 0.50. The resorbable package may be used with the Caldwell (window) technique or the osteotome technique.

Vented refuse can

The vented refuse can consist of a unique component accompanying the open top receptacle where trash bags are inserted and removed. The component that makes this present invention unique is the openings located in the upper part of the receptacle's sidewalls, which allow trapped air between the receptacle and the trash bag to be released. The trapped air being released will prevent bag tearing and slipping off the rim of the receptacle, which will reduce the number of wasted trash bags due to rips and holes caused by the trapped air when trash is tossed into the receptacle.

Reinforced cover for cut-outs in an aeordynamic contour

Reinforced cover for cut-outs in an aerodynamic contour of a vehicle, with a first attachment section 1a attachable to a structural element (2,5) of the vehicle (11); a second elastic section 1c which covers the cut-out (4) which is located between a fixed part 5 and a moving part (6, 12) of the vehicle (11), and provided with a low-friction layer (8) on its inner surface (1e), which comprises a first area (1i) in a rectangular configuration and a second area (1j) with a second cross-section smaller than that of the first area (1i); an outer surface (1k) with a fiberglass layer (7a); a main internal body (9) of a flexible material, a transition section (1g) thickened between the first and the second section, (1a, 1c); flushing the outer surface (1k) of the second section (1c) with the outer surface (5a).
