Method for propagating fungi using solid state fermentation

A solid state fermentation (SSF) method is provided which is effective for both small- and large-scale fungal cultivation. Also provided is SSF media for fungal cultivation. The media preferably contains a carbon source and nitrogen source to provide a carbon to nitrogen ratio of about 5:1 to about 25:1 by weight. The media may also contain a vitamin and an inorganic substance. A preferred SSF medium contains malt extract, yeast extract, peptone, glucose, water, solid base, and calcium carbonate or gypsum. Before propagating fungal mycelia in the SSF medium, the mycelia may be pre-cultivated in a solid culture medium and then in a liquid medium. Although the SSF method can be used in growing most fungi, preferred fungi include Cordyceps sinensis, Ganoderma lucidum, Antrodia camphorata, Trametes versicolor, and Agaricus blazei. The SSF method not only produces high yield of fungi, but also stimulates the production of fungal metabolites, particularly the kinds with pharmaceutical and medicinal activities. Cordyceps sinensis is preferably grown to produce the active compound H1A which is a derivative of ergosterol.

The optimal process conditions for preparing the biodiesel by use of the supported catalyst are as follows: the reaction temperature is 65 DEG C, the molar ratio of methanol to oil is 9:1, the reaction time is 4h, the using amount of the catalyst is 2%, and the production rate of the biodiesel under the conditions is 85.4%.

The present invention relates to a method for preparing a hydrophobic organic framework solid base catalyst. A functional monomer of 4-vinylpyridine or 1-vinylimidazole, a crosslinking agent monomer of divinylbenzene and an initiator of azodiisobutyronitrile are added into an organic solvent for a thermal polymerization reaction, and the hydrophobic organic framework solid base catalyst is obtained after evaporating and drying the solid at room temperature. In the thermal polymerization reaction, the ratio of the total amount of the functional monomer and the crosslinking agent monomer to the organic solvent is 0.67-2.0 (mL / mmol). The ratio of the functional monomer and the crosslinking agent monomer is 0.2-1.0 (mL / mL). The temperature of the solvent thermal polymerization reaction is 80-140 DEG C, and the reaction pressure is 0.5-5 MPa. The method provides the organic framework solid base catalyst which is swellable, large in specific surface area, large in pore volume, stable, and super-hydrophobic.

Method of preparing biological diesel oil using solid base catalyst

The solid alkali catalyst process of preparing biodiesel oil includes the following steps: mixing vegetable oil and methanol or ethanol in the molar ratio of 4-20 mechanically in a reactor; adding solid alkali catalyst in 0.5-5 wt% of the vegetable oil and cosolvent in 5-20 wt% of the vegetable oil; performing ester exchange reaction at 60-85 deg.c via stirring for 1-4 hr; suction filtering while the reacted product is hot to separate out solid alkali catalyst; distilling the liquid phase to recover methanol; separating the liquid phase in a separating funnel into crude biodiesel oil in the upper layer and glycerin in the lower layer; and decompression distilling the crude biodiesel oil to obtain purified biodiesel oil product. Thus prepared biodiesel oil has simple post-treatment, and needs no neutralization and washing.
