A method of making a copolymer composition containing a copolymer, which includes the steps of (a) providing a donor monomer composition that includes an isobutylene type monomer; (b) mixing the donor monomer composition with an ethylenically unsaturated monomer composition that includes one or more ethylenically unsaturated acceptor monomers, and is substantially free of maleate type monomers and fumarate type monomers, and (c) polymerizing the mixture resulting from step (b) in the presence of a free radical polymerization initiator. The polymerization is carried out in the substantial absence of Lewis acids and / or transition metals. The isobutylene type monomer is present at a molar excess of at least 10 mol % based on the molar concentration of monomers in the ethylenically unsaturated monomer composition. The ethylenically unsaturated acceptor monomers are present in an amount of at least 15 mol % of the total monomer composition.

A copolymer containing the vinyl-3,4-cyclohexanediol containing resin composition and at least one monomer selected from acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, alkyl acrylate, alkyl methacrylate, styrene, acrylonitrile, butadiene, isoprene, vinyl acetate, maleic anhydride, ethylene or mixtures thereof.

Bioresorbable composite for repairing skeletal tissue

Bioresorbable compositions for treating skeletal tissue are disclosed. The biomedical compositions are formed from a polylactide polymer, a polyglycolide polymer, or a poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) polymer having a relatively low molecular weight. For instance, the average number molecular weight of the polymer is generally less than 10,000, such as from about 500 to about 5,000. Fumarate groups are incorporated into the low molecular weight polymer that provide crosslinking sites. If desired, ethyl-lene oxide groups and ceramic particles may also be incorporated into the polymer for producing compositions having a variety of properties. For example, the biomedical composition of the present disclosure can be used to treat soft skeletal tissue or to treat hard skeletal tissue. The biomedical compositions are biodegradable and can contain various therapeutic, beneficial and pharmaceutical agents that may be released during degradation of the polymer.

The engine oil composition is prepared from the following components in percentage by weight: 0.1 to 0.4 percent of a pour point depressant, 1.5 to 8.0 percent of a viscosity index improver, 1.79 to 3.93 percent of a clearing agent, 0.64 to 3.07 percent of a dispersing agent, 1.04 to 3.67 percent of an antioxidant, 0.01 to 5 percent of a friction reducing agent, 0.3 to 1.5 percent of zinc dialkyl dithiophosphate and the balance of neutral base oil, the pour point depressant comprises a vinyl acetate-fumarate pour point depressant; the vinyl acetate-fumarate pour point depressant is prepared from the following components in parts by weight: 0.4 to 0.6 part of octadecyl fumarate, 0.8 to 1.2 parts of dodecanol fumarate, 0.8 to 1.2 parts of tetradecyl fumarate, 0.8 to 1.2 parts of hexadecyl fumarate and 0.8 to 1.2 parts of octadecyl fumarate. The engine oil composition has good emulsification retention ability, wear resistance and detergency and dispersibility.
