The knitting mechanism comprises a triangular bottom plate and a knitting assembly, wherein at leastone knitting unit is arranged on the triangular bottom plate; the knitting units and the knitting assembly are mutually matched for knitting; the knitting unit comprises a left upper protection plate,a right upper protection plate, a protruding plate, a stitch transfer cam, a left stitch cam, a right stitch cam, a left back stitch cam, a right back stitch cam, a knitting cam, a disc plate, a leftactuator, a right actuator, a left connecting needle pressing sheet, a tucking pressing sheet, a right connecting needle pressing sheet, a non-weaving pressing sheet, a guide cam and actuating cams,wherein two actuating cams are arranged as a pair; and the left connecting needle pressing sheet, the tucking pressing sheet and the right connecting needle pressing sheet are located between the two.The actuating cam structure is simply designed with three actuating positions; in comparison with the existing bottom plate, the bottom plate structure is more simplified, the weight is lighter, functions are still the same, the knitting efficiency is improved, five basic actions of knitting, tucking, stitch transfer, needle connecting and non weaving can be carried out, and a specific needle knitting method is given.
