The invention discloses a method for
virtual desktop compression, which comprises the steps that at a step S101, an
instruction buffer device is constructed in a virtual display card of a
virtual desktop system, and a rendering instruction is saved; at a step S102, desktop images and the rendering instructions are acquired regularly from the virtual display card; at a step S103, the images are compressed by an image compressor; at a step S104, the compressed images are sent to a
client side by a network; at a step S105, the compressed images are received by the
client side; at a step S106, the compressed images are decoded by the
client side; and at a step S107, decoded images are displayed by the
client side. The method for the
virtual desktop compression disclosed by the invention makes use of a rendering
instruction buffer area which is synchronous with the desktop image and established on a virtual desktop
server side and applies the instructions to assist the
image compression in order to reduce complexity of the
image compression and increase quality of the
image compression. Meanwhile, standards and specifications adopted by the image compression do not influence performance and cost of the
client side, so that multi-media application capability of the virtual desktop is strengthened.
