Methods for analyzing and compressing multiple images

A multi-temporal, multi-angle, automated target exploitation method is provided for processing a large number of images. The system geo-rectifies the images to a three-dimensional surface topography, co-registers groups of the images with fractional pixel accuracy, automates change detection, evaluates the significance of change between the images, and massively compresses imagery sets based on the statistical significance of change. The method improves the resolution, accuracy, and quality of information extracted beyond the capabilities of any single image, and creates registered six-dimensional image datasets appropriate for mathematical treatment using standard multi-variable analysis techniques from vector calculus and linear algebra such as time-series analysis and eigenvector decomposition.

A laterally translatable pressure staged rotary shaft sealing mechanism having a seal housing with a shaft passage therein being exposed to a fluid pressure P1 and with a rotary shaft being located within the shaft passage. At least one annular laterally translatable seal carrier is provided. First and second annular resilient sealing elements are supported in axially spaced relation by the annular seal carriers and have sealing relation with the rotary shaft. The seal housing and at least one seal carrier define a first pressure staging chamber exposed to the first annular resilient sealing element and a second pressure staging chamber located between and exposed to the first and second annular resilient sealing elements. A first fluid is circulated to the first pressure chamber at a pressure P1, and a second staging pressure fluid is circulated to the second pressure chamber at a fraction of pressure P1 to achieve pressure staging, cooling of the seals. Seal placement provides hydraulic force balancing of the annular seal carriers.

Closable loop access guide catheter

The Access guide catheter provides passage for therapeutic and diagnostic devices through vessels or conduits that return substantially in a direction from which they originated. One application is for delivery of therapeutic catheters to the carotid or cerebral arteries via access from the radial or brachial artery. The guide catheter enters the aorta from one of the great vessels, forms a closed loop in the aorta, and is directed back into a great vessel in an opposed direction. The distal portion of the guide catheter is advanced into the great vessel for support. Further support is attained by providing tension to the proximal shaft of the guide catheter. Flexibility of the guide catheter allows diagnostic angiograms to be performed prior to delivery of a therapeutic catheter or device.

Double Stack Box Magazine for Rimmed Cartridges of Varying Length

Disclosed is a double stack box magazine for rimmed ammunition cartridges of varied lengths. It includes a housing having a neck portion in which cartridges are arranged in a single column, a double-stack portion in which cartridges are arranged in laterally alternating columns, and a transition portion between the neck portion and the double-stack portion. A pair of rim clearance channels is provided, on opposed interior lateral surfaces of the housing. A first channel portion allows clearance for cartridge rims without respect to forward and rearward position of the cartridges within the housing, which may vary depending on individual cartridge length. A second channel portion in the neck provides an abutment against which laterally opposed areas of a cartridge rim bear to shift the cartridge to a rearward position. A third channel portion provides transition between the first and second channel portions.
