Method and apparatus for disinfecting and / or sterilizing a root canal system by targeting the water content of disease and debris in the canals. The laser technique of employs a frequency of the wavelength emissions between about 930 to about 1065 nanometers with an optimum of 980 nm. This range of wavelengths targets the water content of tissue cells and pathogens as well as any residual organic debris in water within the root canal system after its preparation while being poorly absorbed by the surrounding dentin. The selection of the optimum wavelength produces significant effects generating and advancing treatment to the targeted aqueous environments. This is due to the rapid energy absorption by the water and the subsequent creation of gas bubbles, liberation of heat and subsequent propulsion of waves of heat and gas that impact along the canal walls and ramifications resulting in an enhanced bacterial kill and cleaning of the canal walls and ramifications. No dyes or other additives are necessary to enhance the effectiveness of the laser kill of bacteria, etc.

Method for finding contours in an image of an object

A method is provided for robustly and efficiently identifying contours in an image of an object. Features are extracted from an image, typically using a Sobel edge detector or a set of large oriented filters, and are locally chained to form contour segments of particular character, such as line segments. A spatial hash table is used to access the contour segments according to the location of their endpoints. Candidate sets for joining to grow contours are reduced by considering only segments having ends in adjacent spatial hash bins. Contour constraints are applied to appropriately choose among the candidates to form contours. The method facilitates robust and efficient scratch detection of fiber-optic end faces, or of any surface that may have smoothly curved scratches.

Automatic control system and method for bottom hole pressure in the underbalance drilling

This invention provides an automatic control system and method for bottom hole pressure (BHP) in the underbalance drilling. It relates to a computer automatic control technology. The automatic control system according to the invention includes a processing module for the BHP based on the mechanisms of hydraulics. The BHP in the underbalance drilling is calculated from the acquired standpipe pressure (SPP), the calculated circulating pressure loss in the drilling tools, drill bit pressure drop and the fluid column pressure in the drill string. The resulting BHP is then compared with the set pressure value of the system. In case that the BHP is higher or lower than the set pressure, an instruction to regulate throttle valve opening will be issued in order to bring the BHP back to the set pressure range and complete BHP monitoring and control. The automatic control system and method according to the invention enable real-time tracking of the changes in BHP and achieve accurate and timely adjustment and control of BHP. The automatic control system and method improve the level of automation in the underbalance drilling process, and also enhance the reliability and safety in the underbalance drilling operation, which have wide foreground for application.

The face recognition method comprises a training stage and a classification stage. The training stage comprises the steps of (1) randomly generating a weight wj between an input unit and a hidden unit and an offset bj of the hidden unit, wherein j equals to 1,...,L and represents the number of the weight and the offset, and the total number is L; (2) inputting a training image Y and a label thereof, by using a forward conduction formula hw, b(x)=f(W<T>x), wherein hw, b(x) is an output value, x is input, and an output value hw, b(x<(i)>) of each layer is calculated; (3) calculating the offset of the last layer according to a label value and an output value of the last layer; (4) calculating the offset of each layer according to the offset of the last layer, and acquiring the gradient direction; and (5) updating the weight. The classification stage comprises the steps of (a) keeping all parameters in the network to be unchanged, and recording a category vector outputted by the network of each training sample; (b) calculating a residual error delta, wherein delta=||hw, b(x<(i)>)-y<(i)>||<2>; and (c) classifying a tested image according to the minimum residual error.

The relation of all the odd harmonics and the in vivo temperature is preset through a discretization Langevin function and Fourier transform, and the in vivo temperature is solved through the relation without considering density information of the magnetic nanoparticles and variation, of effective magnetic moments, with the temperature during the solving process. Accurate detection of the in vivo temperature is achieved.

Simultaneously, error module calculating efficiency is improved by building an outline error module, a speed error module and an acceleration error module. By means of performance optimization indexes, tracking errors, outline errors, speed errors and acceleration errors of the system are minimum, and control performance of a multi-shaft servo control system is improved. Multi-shaft parameter module predicative control increment is solved through a simplified calculating module so as to meet real-time requirements of the control system. Robust property of the multi-shaft linkage numerical control system is improved by adopting the non-linear self-adaptive fuzzy PID control method. The control method effectively improves the motion stability and outline machining precision of the multi-shaft linkage numerical control system.
