Systems and methods for interconnection of multiple FPGA devices

Application Specific Integrated Circuit (“ASIC”) devices, such as Field Programmable Gate Arrays (“FPGAs”), may be interconnected using serial I / O connections, such as high speed multi-gigabit serial transceiver (“MGT”) connections. For example, serial I / O connections may be employed to interconnect a pair of ASICs to create a high bandwidth, low signal count connection, and in a manner so that any given pair of multiple ASIC devices on a single circuit card may communicate with each other through no more than one serial data communication link connection step. A reconfigurable hardware architecture (“RHA”) may be configured to include a communications infrastructure that uses a high-bandwidth packet router to establish standard communications protocols between multiple interfaces and / or multiple devices that may be present on a single circuit card. Additionally, a communications infrastructure may be established across multiple circuit cards.

Multi-ring system for fuselage barrel formation

An aircraft fuselage barrel (10) includes a skin (12) and a shear tie (18). The shear tie (18) resides within and is integrally formed with the skin (12). The shear tie (18) is separate from and configured for frame attachment thereon. A multi-ring system (79) for fuselage barrel formation includes a mold (68) with a ring (50). The ring (50) has width (W2) approximately equal to a separation distance (D) between two adjacent fuselage frames (22) and includes a module (52) that has a circumferential length (L1) that is greater than a circumferential distance between two fuselage longerons (14). A support structure (80) is coupled to and supports the mold (68). A method of forming the aircraft fuselage barrel (10) includes constructing the support structure (80). Rings (86) of the mold (68) are attached to and over the support structure (80). The mold (68) is constructed. Material is laid-up onto the mold (68) to integrally form the one-piece fuselage barrel (10) including a Hat-configured longeron (14).

Enhanced multi-processor waveform data exchange using compression and decompression

Configurable compression and decompression of waveform data in a multi-core processing environment improves the efficiency of data transfer between cores and conserves data storage resources. In waveform data processing systems, input, intermediate, and output waveform data are often exchanged between cores and between cores and off-chip memory. At each core, a single configurable compressor and a single configurable decompressor can be configured to compress and to decompress integer or floating-point waveform data. At the memory controller, a configurable compressor compresses integer or floating-point waveform data for transfer to off-chip memory in compressed packets and a configurable decompressor decompresses compressed packets received from the off-chip memory. Compression reduces the memory or storage required to retain waveform data in a semiconductor or magnetic memory. Compression reduces both the latency and the bandwidth required to exchange waveform data. This abstract does not limit the scope of the invention as described in the claims.

Methods and apparatus for hyperview automotive radar

Methods and apparatus are presented that reduce the overall system cost for automotive radar sensing applications. In accordance with aspects of the present invention, one way sensor count reduction can be achieved is through the coverage of multiple vehicle sides through a single sensor. One embodiment combines all high-frequency signal sensor components with an antenna network which are together separately housed as an antenna unit. Each antenna unit transmits high-frequency radar signals and receives and down-converts reflected portions of said transmitted signal. The low-frequency down-converted signals produced by each antenna unit are processed through a shared processing unit which may be separately housed from all antenna units or commonly housed with an antenna unit. In addition, methods for effectively utilizing a sensor comprising multiple antenna units are described according to aspects of the present invention. Other methods and apparatus are presented.

A modular support assembly receives and / or stores elongated objects that may be primarily cylindrical in shape, such as fluid conduits including hydraulic tube, pipe and hose. The modular support assembly includes a plurality of interchangeable modules of differing or similar sizes to create an adjustable assembly whose overall shape and number of modules can change depending upon the intended use of the assembly. The modules comprise sliding engagement portions that are disposed along a periphery of the modules and allow interengageable attachment to other modules. The modules also comprise apertures that can vary in size to accommodate various sizes of objects. The modules can be disassembled by sliding module portion halves apart, facilitating easy assemblage of the modules either before or after the objects retained therein have been positioned, and subsequent removal of individual objects from the assemblage.

Method and apparatus for measuring current as in sensing a memory cell

Apparatus and methods sense or measure an input current, such as a current indicating a logic state of a memory cell. A sensing circuit includes an amplifier, a capacitor, a current source circuit, a clocked comparator and a clocked counter. The current source circuit operates responsive to an output of the comparator to supply or withdraw current to and from the capacitor during respective charging and discharging intervals. The count in the clocked counter results from periodic comparisons of the capacitor voltage with a reference voltage and is, therefore, related to the logic state of the memory cell. The magnitude of current supplied during charging is less than the magnitude withdrawn during discharging, allowing use of a smaller counter.

Wireless communication device with internal antenna system for use in hazardous locations

A self-contained radio frequency (RF) wireless communication device (100) comprising an explosion-proof housing (110), an internal electronic system for the conversion of radio wave and conducted electrical signals, and an internal antenna system located within a non-metallic portion (130) of the housing for collecting and emitting radio wave energy. The antenna system enables the wireless communication device (100) to safely collect and emit radio wave energy using one or more optimally configured antenna resonators (351), with each antenna resonator differing each other antenna resonator by at least one attribute in a group of attributes comprising: frequency response, field polarization, and wavelength spatial diversity. The present invention is a self-contained RF wireless communication device that provides data communications between two or more devices for the supervisory control and / or data acquisition of actuators, sensors, transducers, gas detectors, and other devices located in explosive hazardous locations without the need of installing one or more external antennas, one or more antenna connectors, excessive conduit connections and seals, and the like, whereby reducing system installation components count and eliminating conduit connections, furthermore reducing the probability of system-level failures caused by lower-level faults of components and conduit connections, resulting in a less expensive and safer electrical equipment installation.
