A graphics system including a custom graphics and audio processor produces exciting 2D and 3D graphics and surround sound. The system includes a graphics and audio processor including a 3D graphics pipeline and an audio digital signal processor. The graphics pipeline renders and prepares images for display at least in part in response to polygon vertex attribute data and texel color data stored as a texture images in an associated memory. An efficient texturing pipeline arrangement achieves a relatively low chip-footprint by utilizing a single texture coordinate / data processing unit that interleaves the processing of logical direct and indirect texture coordinate data and a texture lookup data feedback path for “recirculating” indirect texture lookup data retrieved from a single texture retrieval unit back to the texture coordinate / data processing unit. Versatile indirect texture referencing is achieved by using the same texture coordinate / data processing unit to transform the recirculated texture lookup data into offsets that may be added to the texture coordinates of a direct texture lookup. A generalized indirect texture API function is provided that supports defining at least four indirect texture referencing operations and allows for selectively associating one of at least eight different texture images with each indirect texture defined. Retrieved indirect texture lookup data is processed as multi-bit binary data triplets of three, four, five, or eight bits. The data triplets are multiplied by a 3×2 texture coordinate offset matrix before being optionally combined with regular non-indirect coordinate data or coordinate data from a previous cycle / stage of processing. Values of the offset matrix elements are variable and may be dynamically defined for each cycle / stage using selected constants. Two additional variable matrix configurations are also defined containing element values obtained from current direct texture coordinates. Circuitry for optionally biasing and scaling retrieved texture data is also provided.

Functional brain imaging for detecting and assessing deception and concealed recognition, and cognitive/emotional response to information

This invention provides method and system for measuring changes in the brain activity of an individual by functional brain imaging methods for investigative purposes, e.g., detecting and assessing whether an individual is being truthful or deceptive, and / or whether an individual has a prior knowledge of a certain face or object. The invention combines recent progress in medical brain imaging, computing and neuroscience to produce an accurate and objective method of detection of deception and concealed prior knowledge based on an automated analysis of the direct measurements of brain activity. Applying the paradigm developed from the deception model, and applying it to an individual viewing media information (e.g., audiovisual messages or movies, or announcements), the data is used to interpret the effect of the information on that individual. This permits the effective manipulation of the content of the media segments to achieve maximal desired impact in target populations or on specific individuals.

Multi-function micro speaker

The present invention relates to a multi-functional subminiature speaker, more particularly, to a bone conduction speaker, which can generate vibration for bone conduction, bodily sensation of vibration, speaker attachment, and the vibration mode over the housing unit, that is, over a front protector of the speaker, a housing, and an outer side of a rear cover, without any projections, and which has an acoustic portion unit further detachably mounted. According to the multi-functional subminiature speaker of the present invention, it is possible to perform the bone conduction without the projections because the vibration can be generated over the whole surface of the multi-functional subminiature speaker, that is, over the whole outer side of the housing unit, by constructing such that loss of the magnetic force transmitted to the vibration coil is minimized by disposing the magnets on both inner and outer sides with respect to the vibration coil, the vibration force has been improved by making the vibration weight unit to be constructed of the yoke, the central and external magnets, and the inner and outer top plates integrally by means of the rivet shaft to thereby increase the weight of the vibration weight, and the corrugated cross-type vibration spring is provided that is adapted to generate the vibration over the whole housing unit in such a manner as to vibrate the vibration weight of the increased weight effectively and to generate vibration in the upward and downward directions as well as in the right and left directions. Also, it is possible to implement the bone conduction of wide-band region by providing the multi-functional subminiature speaker as described above, and it is possible to provide the multi-functional subminiature speaker capable of performing the bone conduction of subminiature security mode, bodily sensation of vibration, speaker attachment, and vibration mode with low manufacturing cost.

Substrate for surface light emitting device and method of manufacturing the substrate, surface light emitting device, lighting apparatus, and backlight including the same

A substrate for a surface light emitting device in which a transparent electrode, an organic thin film layer, and a cathode electrode are sequentially stacked, the substrate including: a transparent support substrate; and a highly refractive layer that is disposed between the support substrate and the transparent electrode and comprises at least one layer having a refractive index that is equal to or greater than a refractive index of the support substrate, wherein the highly refractive layer comprises a light diffusion unit that diffuses light incident from the transparent electrode and a planarized surface that contacts the transparent electrode. Accordingly, a Haze value of the highly refractive layer is set to be 5% or less, and a diameter of bubbles existing in the highly refractive layer is set to be 1 / 10th or less of a thickness of the highly refractive layer.
