An apparatus and corresponding method of use extracts, cools, and transports effluents from subterranean, sub-sea oil formations to distant shore based processing facilities. The effluents, mostly crude oil, are conveyed rapidly to a cold flow generator near the oil wellhead on the sea bottom using the cold seawater to chill the effluents to a dispersed mixture including generated solids. The mixture is transported close to sea bottom temperatures, slowly, with small pressure drops, in low-cost submerged bare pipes over long distances to on or near shore processing facilities that can produce useful hydrocarbon products more cost effectively than at sea processing facilities. The apparatus eliminates or minimizes the need for heated or insulated pipe, the need for large floating processing structures, the need for sub-sea processing equipment, and / or the need for chemical additions to production flow.

Apparatus and method for enhancing productivity of natural gas wells

A natural gas production system prevents liquid accumulation in the wellbore and minimizes friction loading in the wellbore by maintaining production gas velocity above a critical minimum velocity. A pressurized gas is injected into the well to supplement the flow of production gas such that the velocity of the total gas flow up the well exceeds the critical velocity. A choke is fitted to the gas injection line, and total gas flows are measured by a flow meter. A flow controller compares the measured total gas flow rate against the critical flow rate, and determines a minimum gas injection rate required to maintain the total gas flow rate at or above the critical flow rate. The flow controller then adjusts the choke to achieve the desired gas injection rate. The injection gas may be recirculated production gas from the well, or a gas from a separate source.

The invention relates to rapid judgment for the corrosion of a sodium bicarbonate water type oil well, which is applied to the corrosion treatment of a pit shaft of the oil well. A production liquid is of a sodium bicarbonate water type. When the mole ratio of Ca to HCO3- is between 0 and 1 and less than 0.6, the corrosion which is local corrosion and scale formation coexist; along with the increase of the mole ratio of the Ca to the HCO3-, the scale formation of the pit shaft is relieved, but the corrosion becomes serious; and when the mole ratio of the Ca to the HCO3- is greater than 0.6, the pit shaft of the oil well is mainly corroded. The corrosion condition of a sodium bicarbonate water type medium is fast known through the mole ratio of the Ca to the HCO3-. A corrosion inhibitor for the sodium bicarbonate water type medium is made from the following components in percentage by weight: 20 to 35 percent of carboxylate sodium imida, 20 to 35 percent of water-soluble rosinyl imidazoline, 5 to 10 percent of dodecyldimethylbenzylammonium chloride, 0 to 5 percent of aminotri-methylene phosphonic acid, 0 to 5 percent of hydroxyl ethidene diphosphonic acid, 5 to 10 percent of methanol, 2 to 5 percent of dispersant and the balanced of water. The rapid judgment and the corrosion inhibitor can improve the efficiency of corrosion inhibition.
