Airless engine with gas and water recycling

An internal-combustion engine receives no air from outside atmosphere. Instead, combustion gas expelled from the engine is cooled and recycled back into the engine. That gas contains no nitrogen and consists mostly of carbon dioxide and water vapor. Oxygen and fuel are added to the recycled gas, and the resulting mixture is used to perform an internal-combustion cycle. Cooling that gas condenses its water vapor, and liquid water is separated from the gas. That water is used for injection into the recycled gas at a later time. A small amount of the expelled combustion gas is discharged into outside environment, and the rest is recycled. Water too is recycled back into the engine, and whatever is lost to outside environment is replaced by reclaiming water produced in combustion. No additional supply of water is needed. Since no nitrogen is present, no nitrogen oxides are produced. The amount of other harmful exhaust emissions is greatly reduced too, since most of them are recycled back into the engine. Water evaporation in the cylinders greatly improves fuel economy. The engine is inherently supercharged with combustion-gas pressure, and no turbocharger is needed. Since the combustion gas is heavier than air, the engine can be substantially smaller than a conventional engine of equal power. A smaller engine has less friction.

Dual-fuel valve

A valve for flowing gaseous fuel, i.e., natural gas or propane gas, to an internal combustion engine includes a valve body having an inlet passage and first and second outlet paths in parallel with one another and in flow communication with the inlet passage. A plug-type adjustment member is threaded into the body and an annular seat in the body coacts with the adjustment member to form an orifice in the first outlet path. A stop mechanism limits movement of the adjustment member between a first position at which the orifice area is smaller and a second position at which the orifice area is larger. The valve permits adjustment of fuel flow to small engines so that such engines provide maximum power without exceeding applicable emission standards. And the valve is tamper-resistant.

Muffler for small engine

A muffler for a small engine includes a first expansion chamber 12 for exhaust gas having an exhaust gas inlet 11 being connected to an exhaust gas outlet of the engine, a second expansion chamber 15 being partitioned from the first expansion chamber 12 by a partition plate 14 and being communicated with the first expansion chamber 12 through a first communicating hole 13 on the partition plate 14, and a third expansion chamber 18 being partitioned from the second expansion chamber 15 by the partition plate 14 and being communicated with the second expansion chamber 15 through a second communicating hole 16 on the partition plate 14 and having an exhaust gas outlet 17. A first heat resistant mesh catalyst 19 is disposed on the exhaust gas inlet 11. A first exhaust gas purifier 20 composed of a heat resistant knit fabric 20a coated with a catalyst for purifying the exhaust gas is disposed on the communicating hole 13 on the partition plate 14. Accordingly, the muffler for a small engine having a large muffling effect and a large purification effect on the exhaust gas can be provided. A manufacturing process of the exhaust gas purifier is simple and thereby a manufacturing cost of the muffler for a small engine is reduced.

Dual arm choke and throttle control

A choke and throttle control arrangement for a small engine includes a base plate to which a pair of levers are pivotally joined. One includes a governor spring arm connected to the engine's speed governor, and the other is provided with an arm which serves as a choke actuator. A spring interconnects the two levers to permit them to rotate in unison at low engine speed in response to operator actuation of a throttle control handle. An adjustable stop member is positioned to interrupt the rotation of the governor spring arm when a selected less-than-maximum engine speed is reached. Further throttle control handle advancement permits the choke actuating arm to move to the closed choke position. As the throttle control handle is moved towards a low speed setting, the lever containing the choke actuating arm returns to the position at which the selected less-than-maximum speed was reached. Once reaching that position, both levers move together under the influence of the interconnecting spring as the engine speed is reduced.

An exhaust port [12] of the engine cylinder is arranged in the rear side of the cylinder top; a pressurized air bypass channel tightly pressed on the lower side of a flashboard-type exhaust valve [21] and an air suction check valve [22] of the upper side of a vent-pipe inlet cool an exhaust system and exhaust air and have the effects of both decontamination and preventing an exhaust gas turbine from surging. The supercharging mechanism has compact structure, indirect transmission, stable pressurization and cooling function; the working substance flowing system is provided with the regulating and controlling device with optimized performance and is convenient to the actualization of a small and medium sized engine.

The invention provides a resistance reduction-propulsion integrated structure of a manually-ventilated supercavitating torpedo. A traditional torpedo structure is changed, a cavitation bubble generator on the head portion of the traditional structure is omitted, and the head portion of the torpedo is made to be a plane; an engine jet pipe located on the tail portion of the torpedo is omitted, and four small engine jet pipes are arranged at the front end of the torpedo and evenly distributed in the upper direction, the lower direction, the left direction and the right direction; the included angle between the central axis of each jet pipe and the central axis of the torpedo is 10-15 degrees; by the adoption of the structure, the situation that the movement form is instable due to the fact that the front portion and the rear portion of the torpedo bear thrust at the same time is avoided, and meanwhile uniform thrust can be provided. The resistance reduction-propulsion integrated structure of the manually-ventilated supercavitating torpedo can be applied to low-speed movement and can also achieve high-speed movement; during low-speed movement, natural cavitation bubbles cannot be formed on the plane of the front portion of the torpedo, the engine jet pipes inject air so that a ventilation cavitation bubble can be formed nearby, the resistance of the portion covered with the cavitation bubble is reduced, the resistance reduction effect is achieved, and a propulsion system and a resistance reduction system of the torpedo are combined.

Airless engine

An internal-combustion engine receives no air from outside atmosphere. Instead, combustion gas expelled from the engine is cooled and recycled back into the engine. That gas contains no nitrogen and consists mostly of carbon dioxide and water vapor. Oxygen and fuel are added to the recycled gas, and the resulting mixture is used to perform an internal-combustion cycle. A small amount of the expelled combustion gas is discharged into outside environment, and the rest is recycled. Since no nitrogen is present, no nitrogen oxides are produced. The amount of other harmful exhaust emissions, including particulate matter, is greatly reduced too, since most of them are recycled back into the engine. The engine is inherently supercharged with combustion-gas pressure and, since the combustion gas is heavier than air, the engine can be substantially smaller than a conventional engine of equal power. Direct injection of oxygen leads to further reduction in engine size. A smaller engine has much better fuel economy. Complete elimination of nitrogen oxide emissions and a significant reduction in particulate matter can substantially increase appeal of diesel engines based on the above concept.

The invention discloses a solid rocket motor powder column fixing device, which is used for fixing the radial stability of the combustion powder column on the entire surface of the engine. The engine grain fixing device includes a positioning sleeve, an elastic retaining ring and a gasket. The positioning sleeve has a thin circular structure and is designed with replaceable parts.
