Two-wire dimmer switch for low-power loads

A two-wire load control device (such as, a dimmer switch) is operable to control the amount of power delivered from an AC power source to an electrical load (such as, a high-efficiency lighting load) and has substantially no minimum load requirement. The dimmer switch includes a bidirectional semiconductor switch, which is operable to be rendered conductive each half-cycle and to remain conductive independent of the magnitude of a load current conducted through semiconductor switch. The dimmer switch comprises a control circuit that conducts a control current through the load in order to generate a gate drive signal for rendering the bidirectional semiconductor switch conductive and non-conductive each half-cycle. The control circuit may provide a constant gate drive to the bidirectional semiconductor switch after the bidirectional semiconductor switch is rendered conductive each half-cycle. The bidirectional semiconductor switch may comprise, for example, a triac or two field-effect transistors coupled in anti-series connection.

Power distribution unit monitoring network and components

A system to monitor power loading in a plurality of power distribution units. The system includes a power monitoring gateway with a port configured to communicate with an internet protocol network using an internet protocol address. The power monitoring gateway is also configured to communicate with the plurality of power distribution units through a communication link that does not use internet protocol addressing. The communication link in some embodiments is a wireless link. In other embodiments, the communication link uses a single pair of wires with the power monitoring gateway and the power distribution units configured in a daisy chain topology.

Power averaging and power load management system

A power and load management system for a recreational vehicle provides a power distribution panel comprising a distribution controller operative to generate distribution control signals including at least load signals corresponding to the power load demands on the power distribution panel and distribution relay control signals, and an automatic transfer switch (ATS). The ATS has multiple power inputs, each operative to be connected to one of multiple power sources, e.g., shore power, a battery bank, a generator, etc., and two power transfer lines to the power distribution switch. The ATS further comprises multiple relays, each controllable independently of the others by an ATS controller to connect a corresponding one of the power transfer lines to a selected one of the available power inputs to feed power to the power distribution panel. The ATS further has multiple sensors, each operative to generate a power availability signal to the ATS controller corresponding to the availability of power on a corresponding one of the power input lines. The ATS controller is operative to receive load signals from the distribution controller and power availability signals from the ATS sensors, and to generate the power transfer control signals to the ATS relays and ATS signals to the distribution controller corresponding to power availability. The power distribution panel further comprises independently controllable distribution relays to connect each of the power transfer lines to power load(s).

Power load forecasting method based on long short term memory neuron network

The invention discloses a power load forecasting method based on a long short term memory (LSTM) neuron network. The power load forecasting method comprises inputting power load data and a region feature factor at a historic moment through an input unit; carrying out training and modeling on the power load data and the region feature factor at the historic moment by means of an LSTM network in order to generate a deep neural network load forecasting model which is a single-layer multi-task deep neural network model or a double-layer multi-task deep neural network model used for power supply load forecasting; forecasting the power load in an area needing to be forecasted by means of the deep neural network load forecasting model, and generating a forecasting result of the power load in the area; and outputting the forecasting result of the power load in the area through an output unit. According to the invention, a multi-task learning power load forecasting model is constructed based on the LSTM network in the deep learning field, power consumption loads in multiple areas can be forecasted accurately, and the forecasting effect is improved.

A Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) communication system dynamically provides power and data communications over a communications link. In an enterprise environment made up of one or more personal computing devices (e.g., personal or laptop computers), a switch determines an allocated amount of power to be supplied to each device. The system includes a switch, a power supply, and one or more personal computing devices having a PoE control module. The PoE control module can be part of, for example, a Power Source Equipment / Powered Device (PSE / PD) system or a LAN-On-Motherboard / Powered Device (LOM / PD) system. A method of dynamically providing power to personal computing devices includes determining the power requirements of each device based on one or more factors, which can include, for example, battery charge status, power load, power mode, etc., of each device. Various algorithms can be used to decide priority in providing power to the devices.
