In intelligent networks (IN) and cellular networks, service layer is a conceptual layer within a network service provider architecture. It aims at providing middleware that serves third-party value-added services and applications at a higher application layer. The service layer provides capability servers owned by a telecommunication network service provider, accessed through open and secure Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) by application layer servers owned by third-party content providers. The service layer also provides an interface to core networks at a lower resource layer. The lower layers may also be named control layer and transport layer (the transport layer is also referred to as the access layer in some architectures).

End-to-end notification of local protection using OAM protocol

An end-to-end monitoring mechanism whereby edge nodes are notified that a particular path flows through a local protection tunnel along the way. The notification mechanism utilizes OAM packets which include a link protection indication that are transmitted on the Ethernet service layer. The link protection indication may be represented by one or more flags to indicate that local protection is in place along the path. The mechanism enables fast local protection to be used with slower end-to-end protection by informing the latter when local protection is activated. In an implementation in which local-protection does not preserve the CIR of the protected traffic, the invention provides minimal interruption of Committed Information Rate (CIR) connections by minimizing the time traffic is diverted through local protection tunnels. Notification of the edge node that local protection is in use occurs very quickly, thus allowing the edge node to rapidly switch to a backup path.

Method and system for implementing a global ecosystem of interrelated services

The present invention is directed to a method and management service platform for implementing a global ecosystem of interrelated services. The service platform is comprised of three distinct layers: a physical machine layer; a virtual machine layer and a layer of interrelated services. The physical machine layer may be deployed on large numbers of small generic servers in many geographic locations distributed for enterprise use. Associated with one or more servers are particular resources managed by that particular server. Any server in any geographic location can process any service needed by any client in any other geographic area. The operating system of each physical server is not used directly in the operating environment, but instead, each server runs a platform-independent programming language virtual machine on top of the operating system—this is the virtual machine layer. Services are location independent processing entities that are managed dynamically, configured dynamically, load their code remotely, and found and communicated with dynamically. A generic service container is a CPU process into which arbitrary software services may be homed to a host server at runtime. Thus, a virtual machine layer is an interface layer of service which supports the layer of interrelated srvices rather than the operating system of the physical machines.

Network block services for client access of network-attached data storage in an IP network

The SCSI and iSCSI layers over the TCP / IP layers of the protocol stack in an IP network client and in an IP network-attached storage server are replaced with a thin network block services layer. The network block services layer 71 implements a network block services protocol having a very reduced set of commands transmitted between the client and the storage server. The network block services protocol is used in a configuration process in which logical volumes of the network-attached storage are exported to the client and become local pseudo-disk instances. The client's operating system and application programs access the local pseudo-disk instances with what appears to be a standard device driver for a local disk device. The device driver maintains a TCP connection to each open device, and responds to connection failure by re-connecting with an alternative server IP port.

Shared view of customers across business support systems (BSS) and a service delivery platform (SDP)

An identity management tool provides identity management across multiple domains, providing a single access point not only for information for runtime, network, and service layer information, but also for systems such as business support systems (BSS), operational support systems (OSS), and third party systems. The identity management tool creates a unified user profile that maps customer identities across the various domains, and presents the information in a virtual directory wherein the information appears to come from a single source, creating a central data hub for the various systems. This aggregation provides for the same experience and service across various access networks and using various channels. Such an architecture allows billing and service information to be shared with subscription and customer information, even though the data is substantially unrelated data from disparate data sources, without the need to combine schemas or aggregate the data into a single data store.

The implementation method includes the steps that existing scene description is uploaded to a scene root explorer of a cloud service system, a model needed by a scene is analyzed by the scene root explorer, and the model is uploaded from a memory system. The belonging model is packaged, a scene object is set, a render instruction supported by a specific renderer is generated, and the render instruction is packed and is sent to a render system. After the render instruction returns to a render picture, the picture is transmitted to an application layer and is displayed. A user interacts with the application layer, the application layer captures action events, and the action events are transmitted to a cloud service layer according to a protocol. After the cloud service layer receives the action events, a scene is automatically adjusted on the background of the cloud service layer according to new action parameters. Format conversion of packaging and render instruction is carried out for a second time, then the action events are transmitted to the render system and are rendered by the render system, and finally the action events are displayed on the application layer anew. Therefore, interactive edit and display of a three-dimensional scene are achieved.
