Method for compressive sensing , reconstruction, and estimation of ultra-wideband channels

The method for compressive sensing (CS) and reconstruction of ultra-wideband (UWB) channels includes building four practically-based dictionaries related to the antenna angles of transmission and angles of arrival that enhance the sparsity of UWB signals. The dictionaries account for the practical effects of the channel, such as pulse dispersion and the unavoidable effects of the antenna. Utilizing the practically-based dictionaries CS is able to reconstruct the UWB signals more efficiently with reasonable complexity. In addition to waveform reconstruction, the dictionaries are used for channel estimation. The CS method can be used with either a single-shot full profile correlator or a Rake receiver. The Rake receiver employs CS in adjusting its parameters to take advantage of the energy available in the strongest propagation paths.

Panoramic three-dimensional adapter for an optical instrument and a combination of such an adapter and such an optical instrument

An adapter is provided for adapting an optical instrument, such as a camera (3) or a projector, to capture or display panoramic three-dimensional images. The adapter comprises a plurality of mirrors (1a, 1b, 1c), each of which has a reflective surface which is in the shape of a curved non-circular conic section rotated about an axis of symmetry (15a, 15b, 15c). The reflective surfaces have first foci which are spaced perpendicularly from a longitudinal axis of the adapter and which are angularly spaced around the longitudinal axis. For example, the conic section may be a hyperbola with first foci equidistantly spaced from the longitudinal axis and equiangularly spaced around 15b the longitudinal axis. The axes of symmetry (15a, 15b, 15c) of the mirrors (1a, 1b, 1c) converge to intersect the longitudinal axis at a point which is coincident with the front principal point of, for example, a camera lens (12). Thus, single shot capture of all the image data for the or each panoramic three-dimensional image may be performed.

The present invention discloses an image processing method and a mobile terminal. The method comprises the steps of obtaining a first image acquired by a first camera and N frames of images acquired by a second camera within a same time quantum; and synthesizing the first image and the N frames of images to generate a finally outputted target image, wherein the first image is a normal exposure image, the N frames of images are all underexposure images, the starting time when the first camera acquires the image and the starting time when the second camera acquires the images are same, the first exposure duration of the first camera is N times of the second exposure duration of the second camera, and N is a positive integer. According to the image processing method of the present invention, the double cameras realize the electronic shake resistance, and the (1+N) frames of images are synthesized to obtain the output image of abundant details and higher image quality, thereby realizing the electronic shake resistance. In addition, the image processing method is suitable for various application scenes, such as single shot, continuous shot, panoramic photography, video recording, etc., thereby solving the problem that the electronic anti-shake limitation is large.

High resolution 3-d spectral domain optical imaging apparatus and method

Methods and apparatus are presented for obtaining high-resolution 3-D images of a sample over a range of wavelengths, optionally with polarisation-sensitive detection. In preferred embodiments a spectral domain OCT apparatus is used to sample the complex field of light reflected or scattered from a sample, providing full range imaging. In certain embodiments structured illumination is utilised to provide enhanced lateral resolution. In certain embodiments the resolution or depth of field of images is enhanced by digital refocusing or digital correction of aberrations in the sample. Individual sample volumes are imaged using single shot techniques, and larger volumes can be imaged by stitching together images of adjacent volumes. In preferred embodiments a 2-D lenslet array is used to sample the reflected or scattered light in the Fourier plane or the image plane, with the lenslet array suitably angled with respect to the dispersive axis of a wavelength dispersive element such that the resulting beamlets are dispersed onto unique sets of pixels of a 2-D sensor array.

System and method for Hilbert phase imaging

Hilbert phase microscopy (HPM) as an optical technique for measuring high transverse resolution quantitative phase images associated with optically transparent objects. Due to its single-shot nature, HPM is suitable for investigating rapid phenomena that take place in transparent structures such as biological cells. A preferred embodiment is used for measuring biological systems including measurements on red blood cells, while its ability to quantify dynamic processes on the millisecond scale, for example, can be illustrated with measurements on evaporating micron-size water droplets.

Method for suppressing multipath clutters of through-the-wall radar

The invention relates to a method for suppressing multipath clutters of a through-wall radar, and belongs to the technical field of through-wall radars. Firstly a moving target indicator (MTI) is adopted to filter and suppress strong static clutters including wall back waves and the like, the back waves of moving objects are protruded, and detection of cell average-constant false alarm rate (CA-CFAR) is carried out; secondly range delay information of detected real objects and the multipath clutters is cohesively extracted in the distance direction; then corresponding range delay of multipath channels is forecast by adoption of wall position information and detected object distance delay; and finally, detected objects are separated through the range of distance delay of the detected multipath channels, and the multipath clutters are screened and suppressed. Based on a single-shot single-receiving antenna allocation, back wave data of the through-wall radar are detected, the distance information of the moving objects is extracted, meanwhile interference with a radar system by the multipath clutters is suppressed, detecting performance of the radar system can be improved significantly, and impact on the radar system by the multipath clutters is suppressed.
