An image processing device is provided that can precisely measure the photographing position or posture of a photographing device or the coordinates of an object based on sequentially changing photographed images. A series of sequentially photographed images are acquired, from which feature points are extracted. The feature points are tracked and correlated to each other. Stereo images are selected from the series of photographed images correlated, and subjected to an orientation and a 3D measurement. The error range of corresponding points obtained by the 3D measurement is calculated. Based on the calculated error range, it is determined whether or not the corresponding points are appropriate for 3D measurement. Those corresponding points determined as inappropriate are deleted. Another orientation and another 3D measurement are performed using those corresponding points excluding the deleted ones, thus improving the measurement precision.

A stereo-phase-based absolute three-dimensional (3D) shape measurement method is provided that requires neither phase unwrapping nor projector calibration. This proposed method can be divided into two steps: (1) obtain a coarse disparity map from the quality map; and (2) refine the disparity map using local phase information. Experiments demonstrated that the proposed method could achieve high-quality 3D measurement even with extremely low-quality fringe patterns. The method is particular well-suited for a number of different applications including in mobile devices such as phones.

The invention relates to a chromatic confocal technique method and arrangement for the rapid three-dimensional measurement, in particular, of object shape, more particularly of a tooth in the jaw of a human being with an array of polychromatic point light sources, a planar detector matrix, arranged before means for lateral spectral separation and an objective for object illuminating and recording. Method and apparatus for automatic detection of anomalies in vessel structures

In a method and apparatus for fully automatic detection of anomalies in vessel structures, a 3D volume data set of an imaging 3D measurement of the vessel structure is obtained and, for an evaluation device, the vessel structure is detected in the 3D volume data set and subsequently is skeletonized in order to obtain a three-dimensional course of skeletonization paths. Characteristic quantities of the vessel structure are automatically determined along the skeletonization paths as features that are significant for an anomaly to be detected, in order obtain one or more feature series. The determined feature series are classified by non-linear imaging and comparison with reference feature series that have been determined for different classes of known vessel structures that contain different anomalies and known vessel structures without anomalies.
