Semi-passive method and system for monitoring and determining the status of an unattended person

A method and system for determining the status and monitoring an unattended individual. A radio beacon device can be associated with one or more individuals (e.g., an unattended person). Behavioral information about the individual(s) can be collected by tracking the location of the individual within a particular area (e.g., home, assisted living facility, etc.) utilizing the radio beacon device. The presence of other persons can then be distinguished from that of the individual within said particular area utilizing said behavioral information collected about said individual, thereby permitting a determination of the status of said individual and distinguishing the presence of other persons within said particular area. The behavioral information can include, for example, one or more activity levels associated with the individual.

Insect monitoring device and method of detection

The invention relates to a bed bug detection device (10) comprising a refuge (16) which elicits a taxis response from bed bugs and a non-trapping indicator surface (18), on which the bed bugs may leave indicators of their presence, such as faecal matter or cast skins. The refuge is positioned in close proximity to said non-trapping indicator surface such that the bed bugs can leave an indicator of their presence as they travel across the indicator surface on their way to or from the refuge. Preferably the non-trapping indicator surface takes the form of a skirt which surrounds a refuge made of corrugated paper. The invention also provides a passive method of detecting the presence of bed bugs without their capture by detecting the presence of indicators rather than the bed bugs per se.

Methods for designing a chamber to reduce noise in a duct

Low-frequency duct noise is relatively difficult to deli with by passive methods such as porous duct lining. Reactive methods like expansion chamber are rather bulky, while compact resonators are too narrow-banded. This invention shows that a suitably stretched thin membrane backed by a slender cavity can achieve a satisfactory performance from low to medium frequencies over an octave band.

Method for achieving online inhabitation of processing fluttering through intelligent control of rotation speed of spindle

The invention provides a method for achieving online inhabitation of processing fluttering through intelligent control of rotation speed of a spindle, and belongs to the field of intelligent processing. The method comprises steps of step 1, when a spindle is processed at the initial rotation speed of n0, carrying out real-time monitoring on milling processing states, analyzing detection results and determining whether fluttering occurs or not; and step 2, when failing to identifying occurrence of the fluttering, keeping the original rotation speed of the spindle of a machine tool unchanged, repeating execution of the step 1, and when identifying the occurrence of the fluttering, adjusting the rotation speed of the spindle to the new spindle optimal rotation speed nnew, and carrying out fluttering inhabitation at the early stage of the occurrence of the fluttering. According to the invention, online inhibition of fluttering in milling processing is achieved through intelligent control of the rotation speed of the spindle; when the fluttering is monitored, a numerical control machine tool will adjust the rotation speed of the spindle to be the new rotation speed nnew through which stable cutting can be achieved by use of an adaptive control algorithm provided by the invention, so problems and disadvantages in a passive method for inhibiting the fluttering based on random range of the rotation speed of the spindle in a certain range in a normal cutting process are solved.

Photovoltaic grid-connected island detection algorithm based on abrupt phase change and active phase shifting

Disclosed is a photovoltaic grid-connected island detection algorithm based on abrupt phase change and active phase shifting. The photovoltaic grid-connected island detection algorithm comprises the steps of (1) collecting a grid-connected current frequency value, a common point voltage phase and a grid-connected current phase through a phase-locked loop apparatus; (2) setting upper and lower threshold values of a frequency, a common point voltage and a phase deviation threshold value of a grid-connected current; according to national island detection standard, setting the frequency threshold valve |f-f0| to be less than or equal to 0.5Hz; and setting the phase difference |delta <phi>| to be less than or equal to 2 degrees; and (3) when the grid-connected current frequency, or the common point voltage and the phase deviation of the grid-connected current exceed the corresponding threshold values, starting island protection; and when the current frequency of the grid-connected point and the |delta <phi>| are not greater than the corresponding threshold values, applying phase perturbation, wherein theta<SMS> is equal to 5 degrees sin(pi / 2*delta f / 3), on an inverted output current until the current frequency of the grid-connected point or the |delta <phi>| is greater than the corresponding threshold value, starting island protection. By adoption of the photovoltaic grid-connected island detection algorithm, seamless switching of different algorithms can be realized; detection blind regions can be reduced while the detection speed can be accelerated when a passive method is adopted singly; and in addition, the power grid current THD can be lowered when an active phase shifting method is adopted singly.

Mixed island detection method based on combination of slide mode frequency shift method and passive method

The invention relates to a mixed island detection method based on a combination of a slide mode frequency shift method and a passive method. The method comprises that an inversion output current, a load current and related values are collected, and inversion output active power and reactive power and load consumption active power and reactive power of are calculated; according to a difference between the inversion output active power and the load consumption active power as well as a difference between the inversion output reactive power and the load consumption reactive power, an over/under frequency detection method in the passive method is used to obtain a reference current value, or the slide mode frequency shift method is used to obtain the reference current value. According to the invention, load change can be tracked, and different algorithms are switched in real time; switching mistakes of the island detection algorithms caused by instant voltage and current jump can be prevented; and blind detection areas can be reduced and the detection speed can be increased compared with those when the passive method is used independently, and THD of the power-grid current can be reduced compared with that only the slide-mode frequency shift method is used.
