According to the method, the large radius, the medium radius and the small radius of the umbrella skirt of a composite insulator are optimized respectively by taking minimum field intensity Range-E and minimum field intensity maximum of gradients Max-Grad as single optimization targets, so that the composite insulator electric field distribution is more uniform.
