Method of password management and authentication suitable for trusted platform module

A password management and authentication method suitable for an electronic device with a trusted platform module (TPM) is provided. An authentication code is automatically generated according to a TPM password, and the authentication code is stored into an authentication device selected by a user. The authentication device storing the authentication code is directly served as an electronic key of the TPM so that the user needs not to memorize any password and can access data or a hard disk (HD) encrypted by the TPM by simply connecting the authentication device to the electronic device. Thereby, it is very convenient to the user.

Fluorescence filtering system and method for molecular imaging

An optical system is disclosed that can be used for fluorescence filtering for molecular imaging. In one preferred embodiment, a source subsystem is disclosed comprising a light source and a first set of filters designed to pass wavelengths of light in an absorption band of a fluorescent material. A detector subsystem is also disclosed comprising a light detector, imaging optics, a second set of filters designed to pass wavelengths of light in an emission band of the fluorescent material, and an aperture located at a front focal plane of the imaging optics. A telecentric space is created between the light detector and the imaging optics, such that axial rays from a plurality of field points emerge from the imaging optics parallel to each other and perpendicular to the second set of filters.

The invention relates to a device for driving display devices and to a display device that is provided with a driver circuit. The invention also relates to a method of testing driver circuits. Driver circuits of this kind have a decisive effect on the quality of the display devices. Therefore, in order to ensure a good quality, the driver circuit must be extensively tested, that is, with an as short as possible test time and using as few means as possible. In order to make such a test possible, a device for driving the display devices is provided with M leads that are coupled to AN output stages that are provided with at least one multiplex device (4) and at least one amplifier unit (5), the M leads being coupled to a first switching device (2) that enables the interruption of a voltage supply to the M leads, and at least one second switching device (3) being provided in at least one output stage (AN) in order to switch the output stage (AN) to a selectable potential. This enables the use of a test that can be carried out digitally.

Method and apparatus for electrically detecting an adverse effect of a toxic substance on procaryotic cells

A method and apparatus for electrically measuring an adverse effect of toxic substances on prokaryotic cells includes measuring a whole intracellular change caused by the presence of toxic substances as a change in an electric signal of cell membranes of the prokaryotic cells. According to the present invention, it is possible to electrically measure the presence of toxicity and the extent of the adverse effect very easily and within a rapid period of time and also to measure the adverse effect of toxic substances regardless of their type. Thus, the method and apparatus of the present invention have wide applicability and can be easily applied to a lab-on-a-chip.

Sensor device and method

The sensor device has a housing. The housing is made of a material having a first high heat-conductivity index. A holder is attached to the housing and made of a material with a second low heat-conductivity index that is substantially lower than the first high heat conductivity index. The holder holds a peltier element and is connected to a power source so that the element has a cooled layer and a heated layer. A rotatable roller is in operative engagement with the layer so that the layer cools the roller. The roller may be rolled on the skin of the patient to determine the scope and effect of anesthetic treatment.
