Symmetrical / asymmetrical bidirectional S-shaped I-V characteristics with trigger voltages ranging from 10 V to over 40 V and relatively high holding current are obtained for advanced sub-micron silicided CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) / BiCMOS (Bipolar CMOS) technologies by custom implementation of P1-N2-P2-N1 / / N1-P3-N3-P1 lateral structures with embedded ballast resistance 58, 58A, 56, 56A and periphery guard-ring isolation 88-86. The bidirectional protection devices render a high level of electrostatic discharge (ESD) immunity for advanced CMOS / BiCMOS processes with no latchup problems. A method and a system are disclosed, of enabling a user of an Internet application to access protected information. An idea behind at least one embodiment of the invention is that a user identifier token is created, after a user has been authenticated by way of a logon mechanism of the Internet application. The user identifier token is then associated with the authenticated user and stored at an Internet client of the authenticated user. When protected information is to be made available for a requesting user, the concerned set of protected information is associated with the authenticated user and an information identifier token is created and associated with the protected information. The information identifier token is delivered to the authenticated user via e-mail. When a request is received from a requesting user, it is verified that the request comprises a user identifier token and an information identifier token, that there exists an association between these tokens and the previously authenticated user and the protected information, respectively, and that the requested protected information is associated with the authenticated user. A valve containment assembly for an irrigation system may have a first side wall unit, a grate, a second side wall unit, and a lid. The first side wall unit may be disposed on the floor of a hole. The grate may be positioned in the first side wall unit to support a manifold. The present invention relates to secure paring of electronically controlled devices adapted to communicate with each other. Thus, a medical system is provided comprising a first unit and a second unit, the system comprising first means of communication allowing a first group of data types to be transmitted between the first unit and the second unit, and second means of communication allowing a second group of data types to be transmitted between the first unit and the second unit. The redundantly generated sensor signals (deltav1, deltav2, deltaH1, deltaH2) for regulating a steering motor (LM) and for a feedback actuator (LRM) that transfers the restoring torques from the road to the driver via the steering wheel are received by a control device having the form of a microcomputer (RM) and plausibility checks of the sensor signals are performed therein and in an operatively associated monitoring module (ÜM). Microcomputer module (RM) and monitoring module (ÜM) monitor each other reciprocally. An auxiliary level for the steer-by-wire steering system is also monitored by the control device (RM) which, in the case of error, switches to this auxiliary level or a mechanical auxiliary level. In order to further increase the degree of safety, the steering wheel motor (LRM) is triggered via control signals (UH) for its phase currents and by a steering wheel motor enable signal (gRH), and similarly the steering motor (LM) is triggered via control signals (Uv) for its phase currents and via a steering motor enable signal (gRV). The safety valve comprises an inlet valve and a moveable control member acting on the safety inlet valve, wherein the control member is operatable between an initial position in which the safety inlet valve is closed, and an activated position in which the safety inlet valve is open, and wherein the control member is moved from the initial to the activated position by means of suction action from the pump. By this arrangement the opening of the safety valve is positively controlled by the suction provided by the pump whereas the safety valve is closed during non-operation of the pump.

Processors that encrypt frames of data representing images and sounds, for example, use a first encryption process to encrypt control data that includes selected data from the data frames and use a second encryption process to encrypt non-selected data from the data frames. The first encryption process is responsive to a key, which may be associated with an intended recipient of the data frames. The second encryption process is responsive to a key that is obtained or derived from the control data. The encrypted control data and the encrypted non-selected data may be delivered to a receiver using separate media. The receiver recovers the data frames using decryption processes that are inverse to the first and second encryption processes. Efficient implementations of the second encryption process are disclosed.

The present invention relates to secure paring of electronically controlled devices adapted to communicate with each other. Thus, a medical system is provided comprising a first unit and a second unit, the system comprising first means of communication allowing a first group of data types to be transmitted between the first unit and the second unit, the first unit comprising an acoustic transducer having a transducer coil with a plurality of windings, the transducer coil serving as an antenna for wireless signals transmitted between the first and second units.
