Object detection and detection confidence suitable for autonomous driving

In various examples, detected object data representative of locations of detected objects in a field of view may be determined. One or more clusters of the detected objects may be generated based at least in part on the locations and features of the cluster may be determined for use as inputs to a machine learning model(s). A confidence score, computed by the machine learning model(s) based at least in part on the inputs, may be received, where the confidence score may be representative of a probability that the cluster corresponds to an object depicted at least partially in the field of view. Further examples provide approaches for determining ground truth data for training object detectors, such as for determining coverage values for ground truth objects using associated shapes, and for determining soft coverage values for ground truth objects.

Proximity sensor with adaptive threshold

A proximity sensor measures receptor output with an energy source deactivated. The sensor then measures receptor output with the energy source activated. The measurements with the energy source activated are compared to the measurements with the energy source deactivated to compensate for the effect of ambient conditions. A near condition is recognized if the change between the two groups of measurements exceeds a designated value. To compensate for receptor output that may decrease after reaching a peak value during approach of an object, a near condition can be maintained until the change between the two groups of measurements no longer exceeds a different designated value. Multiple sensors can be used to avoid false near conditions caused by, e.g., placing a device equipped with the sensors next to a stationary object. In one embodiment, a sensor comprises an infrared light emitting diode and a phototransistor.

Insulated synchronous rectification dc/dc converter

An external circuit element RSET is connected in use to an SET terminal. A synchronous rectification controller generates a pulse signal S1 based on a control time determined according to the state of the SET terminal. A driver switches on and off the synchronous rectification transistor according to the pulse signal S1. An abnormal state detection circuit is capable of detecting an open-circuit state and / or a short-circuit state that can occur in the SET terminal. When the abnormal state detection circuit detects such an open-circuit state and / or short-circuit state, the abnormal state detection circuit asserts a detection signal S11. When the detection signal S11 is asserted, a primary-side controller arranged on the primary side of the DC / DC converter is instructed to suspend the switching operation of a switching transistor.

Handheld System for Radar Detection

The present invention is a radar platform that detects intruders and wirelessly reports to a key-fob. The entire radar platform is water-resistant and two banks of batteries are included for convenience or extended operation time. The device consists of a MicroPower Radar (MPR), a data acquisition (DAQ) element and a processor. Radar sends a short, low-amplitude signal of radio-frequency (RF) energy toward the target. This signal reflects from the target and is received as a Doppler change in signal amplitude. The radar's RF energy is in the radio frequency band and operates at much lower powers than many mobile devices such as cell phones. This Doppler System change in signal amplitude is filtered, amplified and presented to the DAQ. The DAQ converts the analog Doppler signal into a digital bit-stream and passed to the radar processor. Proprietary software analysis is performed to further filter and to make an alarm determination.

Accurate signal detection in a wireless environment

A method for accurate signal detection begins by receiving a radio frequency signal, which is then converted into baseband signals. The processing then continues by performing a normalized auto correlation on the down-converted baseband signal to produce a normalized auto correlation signal. The process continues by performing a periodic pattern detection on the down-converted baseband signal to produce a normalized detected periodic signal. The process then continues by comparing the normalized auto correlation value with an auto correlation threshold and by comparing the normalized detected periodic signal with a set of thresholds. When the normalized auto correlation value compares favorably with the auto correlation threshold and when the normalized detected periodic signal compares favorably with the set of thresholds, the down-converted baseband signal is indicated to be a valid signal.
