4699 results about "Circulator" patented technology

A circulator is a passive, non-reciprocal three- or four-port device, in which a microwave or radio-frequency signal entering any port is transmitted to the next port in rotation (only). A port in this context is a point where an external waveguide or transmission line (such as a microstrip line or a coaxial cable), connects to the device. For a three-port circulator, a signal applied to port 1 only comes out of port 2; a signal applied to port 2 only comes out of port 3; a signal applied to port 3 only comes out of port 1, so to up to a phase-factor, the scattering matrix for an ideal three-port circulator is...

Technique for compensation of transmit leakage in radar receiver

A radar system (500) radiates a radar transmit signal, has a radar signal receiver (503) and a canceller (505) for canceling leakage of the transmit signal into the radar signal receiver (503). The canceller (505) comprises a digital waveform generator (528) for generating a first digital signal converted to an analog waveform. The analog waveform is amplified after a fixed delay (534) to generate a first cancellation signal input into a circulator (504). The circulator combines the first cancellation signal with the leakage to generate a first corrected signal. A summer (507) combines the first corrected signal from the circulator with a second cancellation signal to generate a second corrected signal. The second cancellation signal is generated by a digital cancellation filter (526). The digital cancellation filter (526) has as an input the first digital signal from the digital waveform generator (528). The digital cancellation filter (526) is controlled using weight adjustments computed by an adaptive weight processor (518). The adaptive weight processor (518) samples the second corrected signal and computes the weight adjustments to optimize the second cancellation signal.

Single frequency duplex radio link

A radio link with two communicating transceivers each having a system for isolating incoming and outgoing radio signals to permit simultaneous transmit and receive by each transceiver on the same frequency or in the same frequency range. This is done so that in-coming receive signals received by each of the transceivers from the other transceiver is much stronger than the portion of its own transmitted signal that is coupled back into its antenna. The invention uses a special electronic circuit, termed the iso-circulator, to couple the antenna to both the co-located receiver and the transmitter. The iso-circulator circuit includes a simulated antenna load with an impedance matched to the antenna impedance. The circuit also includes a transformer with its primary side fed asymmetrically by the antenna so that it can pass the desired receive signal with minimum attenuation. The transformer's primary is on the other hand fed symmetrically from both sides by equally small portions of the transmit power from the co-site transmitter, but these signals are 180 degrees out of phase and cancel almost completely in the transformer.

Remotely deployed optical fiber circulator

Fiber-optic-based systems and methods for monitoring physical parameters using a remotely deployed circulator are disclosed. In a preferred embodiment the circulator is remotely deployed with respect to an optical source / detector and coupled thereto by two dedicated fiber optical cables: a forward line for passing light from the source through the circulator to fiber-optic-based sensors, and a return line for passing light reflected from the sensors through the circulator back to the detector.
