The invention discloses a method for identifying a high impact polystyrene plastic recycled material. The method comprises the following steps of (1) taking a sample and judging that the sample is a high impact polystyrene plastic; and (2) identifying the sample by using at least three methods of infrared spectroscopic analysis, headspace gas chromatographic analysis, electron microscope analysisand element distribution analysis; if at least three above-mentioned methods are used for identification, determining that the sample contains the high impact polystyrene plastic recycled material when the sample is determined to contain the high impact polystyrene plastic recycled material by at least three methods. The method for identifying the high impact polystyrene plastic recycled materialdisclosed by the invention is accurate in result and has universality; even when the content of the recycled material is relatively small, whether to contain the the recycled material or not can be identified by using the method disclosed by the invention.
