Electronically tuned power amplifier

A circuit and method for electronically tuning an RF power amplifier. The output filter includes at least one electronically variable reactance. The electronically tuned power amplifier may be tuned rapidly to a selected frequency, to a selected impedance, or to produce a selected output amplitude. An optional controller translates frequency, impedance, or modulation inputs into tuning signals. High-efficiency, wideband amplitude modulation is produced by varying the amplifier load impedance along preferred loci.

Partially-open fired heater cycle providing high thermal efficiencies and ultra-low emissions

A partially open fired heater regenerative cycle wherein the fired industrial type heater cycle's heat transfer fluid replaces the air predominant nitrogen heat transfer fluid employed in a conventional air / fuel combustion heater. The heater cycle's method and apparatus means is susceptible to providing a 95 to 98 percent mass flow reduction of fugitive nitrogen oxide and carbon monoxide mass flow emissions as emitted by current art Low-NO.sub.x art heaters on a rated per million Btu per hour basis, and is further susceptible to developing steady-state heat transfer thermal efficiencies exceeding 124 percent.

Method for allocating protection bandwidth in a telecommunications mesh network

InactiveUS7308198B1Eliminates and greatly reduces disadvantage and problemEliminates and greatly reduces disadvantageMultiplex system selection arrangementsOptical multiplexCross connectionLogical graph
A telecommunications mesh network includes a plurality of nodes each interconnected by an edge. A traffic demand is received having a working path with a link of edges interconnecting a source node with a destination node. The telecommunications mesh network has one or more pre-cross-connected trails associated therewith that are subdivided into one or more subtrails. Subtrails that do not meet pre-determined conditions are discarded. A logical graph representation of the telecommunications mesh network is created from subtrails that have not been discarded. Unused, shortcut, and rival edges are inserted into the logical graph. A shortest admissible protection path from the source node to the destination node is identified from the logical graph.

Serverless peer-to-peer multi-party real-time audio communication system and method

A serverless peer-to-peer (P2P) multi-party real-time audio communication system and method in which each of the peers takes a turn mixing and compressing the audio and redelivering the compressed audio. An input audio stream is divided or split into frames. At each frame, one peer node is selected to mix and redeliver the audio to the remainder of the peers in the network. The number of frames mixed and redelivered by a certain peer is proportional to its available resources (such as the upload bandwidth or computational power). The P2P audio communication system and method flexibly balances the load of the peers, such that peers having more resources are able to assist peers having fewer resources. This enables the P2P audio communication system and method to conduct a multi-party audio communication session without the need for powerful servers or peers.

System and method for executing wireless applications using common UI components from a UI repository

A system and method is provided having an execution environment of an intelligent runtime device framework for generating user interface elements on a user interface (UI), declared on the device. The proposed method allows user interface definitions through XML metadata UI definitions (or other structured definition language schema) instead of requiring an implementation of the screen elements in executable code for the application. The UI definitions are stored in a common UI repository as a common resource of the applications on the device and is processed at runtime. The UI definitions are independent from the target platform of the device. The “look and feel” of all the applications on the device can be customized and branded as required. Defining layout and ordering of UI elements separately from the applications logic offers modularization of the applications. Such modularization allows reuse of already defined UI screens and sharing them between different applications. The system has a themes and branding repository, a UI repository, a visualization engine, an execution environment, and a UI service. The method includes steps of parsing the XML definitions, applying theme and branding characteristics, providing a screen model to the execution environment, visualizing the user interface, and event handling.
