Adaptively controlled footwear

A method for controlling footwear, comprising cushioning a transient force during use of the footwear at a first period of a gait cycle, storing energy from said cushioning, and releasing the stored energy during use of the footwear at a second period of the gait cycle, and after said transient force has subsided. The control can be electronic, mechanical or hydraulic, and is preferably dependent on a sensed gait cycle phase. The control may be adaptive to the user or the use of the footwear. The stored energy can be used to assist in locomotion, to generate electrical energy, to drive a heat pump, or simply dissipated.

Digital Hybrid V2 Control for Buck Converters

Stabilization of a switching voltage regulator employing V2 control against ripple oscillation instability when the equivalent series resistance (ESR) of an output capacitor is small is provided by providing both an external ramp and an internal ramp (only the latter of which requires an approximation of inductor current) in the control feedback path, preferably including both inner and outer feedback loops. Approximation of inductor current using such an arrangement is non-critical and may be estimated based on power input voltage. Drift of a circuit providing such an inductor current estimation is preferably avoided by adjusting control duty cycle or slew rate of the positive-going ramp portion of the estimated inductor current triangular waveform.

Post-Occlusion Chamber Collapse Canceling System For A Surgical Apparatus and Method of Use

A post-occlusion chamber collapse canceling system for a surgical apparatus that detects the breaking of occlusions by tissue fragments in the distal end of the aspiration path and produces a response comprising a transitory blockage of the distal end the aspiration path to terminate the chamber collapse and a simultaneous transitory venting of the aspiration line to relieve the vacuum, in a way that post-occlusion chamber collapses are cancelled.Disclosed herein, in a preferred embodiment, is a surgical system and related method for preventing collapse of a body chamber being operated upon, due to a vacuum surge following a clearing of an occlusion in an aspiration path of the surgical system, comprising: an occlusion-break sensor for sensing the clearing of the occlusion; a normally-open occlusion valve, temporarily closing in response to the occlusion-break sensor sensing the clearing of the occlusion, thereby occluding fluid flow through the aspiration path and controllably stabilizing the occlusion break, thereby preventing the vacuum surge and consequent body chamber collapse; and a normally-closed venting valve temporarily opening in response to the occlusion-break sensor sensing the clearing of the occlusion, to reduce the vacuum thereby preventing the vacuum surge and consequent body chamber collapse. In an alternative embodiment, the normally-open occlusion valve may be omitted. In yet another alternative embodiment, disclosed is a similar surgical system and related, comprising a normally-closed occlusion valve, temporarily opening for a defined interval before returning to a closed stated, and repeating the temporarily opening and closing at a controlled repetition rate, in response to control by an operator of the system, wherein, by opening the aspiration path in response to the control by the operator, flow through the aspiration path is controlled by the operator thereby preventing the vacuum surge and consequent body chamber collapse.

Inverter control methodology for distributed generation sources connected to a utility grid

The present invention provides an improved control methodology for maximum power point tracking (MPPT), anti-islanding, and output current regulation for distributed generation sources connected to a utility grid. The control includes enhancements for MPPT and regulating the inverter output-current that is sourced into the utility grid. In addition, the functions associated with MPPT, anti-islanding detection and output current regulation are integrated together; the MPPT algorithm operates in conjunction with the anti-islanding detection, and the output current regulation operates in conjunction with the MPPT algorithm.

Soft transitions between muted and unmuted states in class D audio amplifiers

A class AD audio amplifier system (10) with reduced noise capability in muting and unmuting events is disclosed. The amplifier system (10) includes multiple audio channels (20), each of which can be constructed to include a pulse-width-modulator (PWM) (24). The PWM modulator (24) includes a pair of comparators (39A, 39B; 52+, 52−) that generate complementary PWM output signals based upon the comparison between a filtered difference signal and a reference waveform. When the system is muted, a common mode voltage (CM_RAMP) is applied to the inputs of the comparators (39A, 39B; 52+ 52−) to suppress the duty cycle at the amplifier output, preferably to a zero duty cycle. In the transition from a muted state to an unmuted state, the common mode voltage (CM_RAMP) is ramped from the suppressing voltage to zero common mode voltage, permitting the duty cycle of the complementary PWM signals to gradually increase, thus reducing clicks and pops. The converse operation is performed in the transition from unmuted to muted. Pulse-width-modulation control logic (26) is also included to ensure that that the PWM “on” and “off” pulses are of at least a minimum duration, and also to generate compensating pulses on the complementary PWM line at low duty cycles.

Radar generated color semantic image system and method based on conditional generative adversarial network

The invention discloses a radar generated color semantic image system and method based on a conditional generative adversarial network, which belong to the technical fields of sensors and artificial intelligence. The system includes a data acquisition module based on radar point cloud and a camera, an original radar point cloud up-sampling module, a model training module based on a conditional generative adversarial network, and a model using module based on a conditional generative adversarial network. The method provided by the invention includes the following steps: constructing a radar point cloud-RGB image training set; constructing a conditional generative adversarial network based on a convolutional neural network to train a model; and finally, enabling the model to generate a colorroad scene image with meanings in real time in a vehicle environment by using sparse radar point cloud data and the trained conditional generative adversarial network only, and using the color road scene image in automatic driving and auxiliary driving analysis. The network efficiency is higher. The adjustment of network parameters can be speeded up, and an optimal result can be obtained. High accuracy and high stability are ensured.

Display device and electronic device

It is an object of the present invention to provide a display device in which images can be seen under a dark place to intense external light. In the display device, display is performed by changing the gray scale number depending on external light intensity, and display modes can be switched depending on contents displayed on the screen. An analog mode and a digital mode are switched depending on external light intensity. In an analog digital switching circuit, when a video signal is an analog value, a signal is outputted to a pixel array without any change and, when the video signal is a digital value, the signal is outputted to a circuit that performs a digital operation such as a latch circuit. Consequently, display gray scales of a pixel are changed appropriately. Accordingly, a clear image can be displayed. For example, it is possible to ensure visibility in a wide range of a dark place or under indoor florescent light to outdoor sun light.

System for utilizing solar step developing heat

The invention relates to a cascade-developed heat utilization system of solar energy, which adopts that: in a low temperature section, a complex parabolic condenser is matched with a normal temperature receiver and the normal temperature receiver is output to an intermediate temperature section; in the intermediate temperature section, a parabolic trench-typed condenser is matched with an intermediate temperature receiver which is output to a high temperature section through a gas-water separator; in the high temperature section, a disk-typed condenser is matched with a high-temperature receiver which is output to a steam turbine. The cascade-developed heat utilization system of solar energy of the invention solves the defects that disk type is too expensive in manufacturing, and the trench type incurs the conflict between the reliability and the efficiency at high temperature, and the like. The effects of the cascade-developed heat utilization system of solar energy of the invention lie in that: the low temperature section adopts the complex parabolic condenser, the intermediate temperature section adopts the parabolic trench-typed condenser and the high temperature section adopts the parabolic disk-typed condenser; the three heat collecting sections are connected in series and respective advantages thereof are utilized while respective defects thereof are avoided; the three heat collecting sections are led to be combined dynamically to produce synergistic effects.
