Disclosed is a sorbent for the removal of mercury from combustion flue gas and a preparation method thereof. The sorbent includes an activated heavy oil heavy ash impregnated with 0.1-30% by weight of any chemical substance selected from sulfur, iodine, bromine and chlorine. The sorbent is prepared in an economical manner using heavy oil fly ash, industrial waste generated from heavy oil-fired boilers, and has excellent sorption performance for mercury, so that a low concentration of mercury contained in combustion flue gas discharged from large-scale boilers can be removed by injection of a small amount of the sorbent. Thus, the invention can prevent a reduction in the recycling rate of coal fly ash in coal-fired power plants and minimize operation cost.

The invention is directed to the use of medium to high power (greater than or equal to 1 kW) and medium to high energy (greater than or equal to 1 MeV) electron beam or X-ray to cure coatings in thick complex three dimensional automotive bodies. The medium to high power, medium to high energy has sufficient throughput and penetration to permit curing through multiple layers of steel and, therefore, is able to penetrate shadows caused by the bends, folds and curves in automotive bodies. In addition, the medium to high power, medium to high energy beam has sufficient throughput and penetration to cure the thicker coatings that accumulate in surface cracks and crevices. Closed loop work station bioremediation using mini-reactor cartridges

The invention discloses an inorganic zinc-rich anticorrosive paint. The zinc-rich paint is an anticorrosive powder paint which is high in content of zinc powder, thin in film and excellent in performance and is an excellent environment-friendly paint. The paint disclosed by the invention is mainly prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 18-25 parts of solid sodium water glass, 10-15 parts of superfine slag powder, 15-25 parts of metakaolin, 2-5 parts of nano titanium dioxide, 1-5 parts of nano zinc oxide, 1-5 parts of nanosilicon dioxide, 0.5-1 part of a dispersant, 1.1-2.0 parts of a defoamer and 30-40 parts of zinc powder. By using an alkali-based geopolymer as a main film forming matter and the zinc powder as a sacrificial anode, the paint prepared by the invention is a dried paint which is packaged in dry powder. During use of the paint, water is just added in proportion to uniformly stir. The paint disclosed by the invention is abundant in source of raw materials, green and environment-friendly and advanced and pollution-free in preparation process. The prepared paint has the advantages of good water resistance and corrosion resistance, zero VOCs, zero hazardous air pollutants (HAPs), high solid content, low requirement on bottom treatment of metals, simple and convenient construction and the like.

This method also includes use of the grafted triglycerides to make toughened resin and composite systems with reduced hazardous air pollutants without significantly reducing the glass transition temperature and significantly increasing the viscosity.

Solvent systems having a high flash point and methods of use thereof

A method and composition of treating an oil or gas well having a wellbore, well casing, production equipment or recovery equipment. The method involves introducing into the wellbore, well casing, production equipment or recovery equipment a high flash point solvent blend. The blend includes at least one C1-C4 ester of a C16-C20 fatty acid component, at least one terpene hydrocarbon component (e.g., a pure gum turpentine, an oil of turpentine, or mixture thereof), and optionally at least one emulsifier component. The weight percent ratio of the at least one C1-C4 ester of a C16-C20 fatty acid component to the at least one terpene hydrocarbon component is from about 60:40 weight percent to about 95:5 weight percent, based on the total weight of the blend. The blend has a flash point greater than about 140° F. The blend may be biodegradable, and has no ozone depleting compounds, no hazardous air pollutants, and no carcinogens.
