Method for positron emission mammography image reconstruction

An image reconstruction method comprising accepting coincidence datat from either a data file or in real time from a pair of detector heads, culling event data that is outside a desired energy range, optionally saving the desired data for each detector position or for each pair of detector pixels on the two detector heads, and then reconstructing the image either by backprojection image reconstruction or by iterative image reconstruction. In the backprojection image reconstruction mode, rays are traced between centers of lines of response (LOR's), counts are then either allocated by nearest pixel interpolation or allocated by an overlap method and then corrected for geometric effects and attenuation and the data file updated. If the iterative image reconstruction option is selected, one implementation is to compute a grid Siddon retracing, and to perform maximum likelihood expectation maiximization (MLEM) computed by either: a) tracing parallel rays between subpixels on opposite detector heads; or b) tracing rays between randomized endpoint locations on opposite detector heads.

System and Method for Quantitative Molecular Breast Imaging

A system and method for performing quantitative lesion analysis in molecular breast imaging (MBI) using the opposing images of a slightly compressed breast that are obtained from the dual-head gamma camera. The method uses the shape of the pixel intensity profiles through each tumor to determine tumor diameter. Also, the method uses a thickness of the compressed breast and the attenuation of gamma rays in soft tissue to determine the depth of the tumor from the collimator face of the detector head. Further still, the method uses the measured tumor diameter and measurements of counts in the tumor and background breast region to determine relative radiotracer uptake or tumor-to-background ratio (T / B ratio).

Anti-sniper laser active detection system and method

The invention discloses an anti-sniper laser active detection system, which comprises an anti-sniper detector head and a portable industrial personal computer and is characterized in that the anti-sniper detector head is used for emitting infrared detection laser and glaring laser, receiving reflected laser echo signals, obtaining target images, measuring target distance and positioning the coordinates of a detected target; and the portable industrial personal computer is used for controlling the emission of the infrared detection laser and the glaring laser, carrying out the automatic identification, processing and storage on image signals fed back by the anti-sniper detector head, and supplying power for the system. The invention has simple structure and is convenient to carry. The system has large detection visual angle, automatically identifies suspicious target, and gives an alarm for prompting when finding the target by adopting an image processing method; the system can rapidlyposition and look into the position and the distance of an optical lend target, provide day and night amplified observation for an observation field for recording and shooting, and have an recognition rate far higher than the recognition rate of a working method with a unit detector; and the system further can carry out the coordinate positioning and the glaring suppression on the target. The invention provides the system and the method with powerful function and better practicability for various military necessities, such as the protection of very important person, field operations of anti-sniper army, anti-sniper operation and the like.

Subcutaneous glucose sensor

A glucose sensor for measurement of glucose in subcutaneous tissue, the sensor comprising: a probe for subcutaneous insertion, the probe containing an indicator system comprising a receptor for selectively binding to glucose and a fluorophore associated with said receptor, wherein the fluorophore has a fluorescence lifetime of less than 100 ns; a detector head which is optically connected to the probe and which is for location outside the body; a light source; and a detector arranged to receive fluorescent light emitted from the indicator system, wherein the light source and detector are optionally located within the detector head; wherein the sensor is arranged to measure glucose concentration in subcutaneous tissue by monitoring the fluorescence lifetime of the fluorophore.

Registration control for quality silk screen printing

Workpiece rotators are constructed for decoration registration control in spaced apart decoration stations for bottles rotatably supported by carriers of an endless chain conveyor. A screen drive at each decorating station linearly reciprocates a decorating screen to decorate the bottle. A squeegee is positioned to maintain line contact between the decorating screen and a bottle for applying decoration during each screening cycle. The workpiece rotator is coupled by a drive controller to the screen drive to rotate a bottle synchronously with linear travel of the decorating screen. The drive controller uncouples the workpiece rotator from the screen drive at times other than the application of decoration to a bottle. In one embodiment electronic gearing is formed by a servo motor controlled by a scale moved by a screen drive along a detector head which provides an electrical signal used in a control system to maintain proper position of the servo motor during decoration, to re-home the rotator after decoration and to establish a predetermined power start-up position for the rotator. The vertical position of the rotator is adjusted for coaxial alignment between the rotational axes of the rotator and the workpiece. The drive for the rotator may include a one-way clutch or an electric clutch and brake driven by a pinion controlled by a rack in response to reciprocation of the screen drive.
