Thickened fabric conditioners

The present invention relates to thickened fabric conditioners, which fabric conditioners contain a particular polymeric thickener, which is obtained by polymerizing from 5 to 100 mole percent of a cationic vinyl addition monomer, from 0 to 95 mole percent of acrylamide, and from 70 to 300 ppm of a difunctional vinyl addition monomer cross-linking agent. As compared to such compositions comprising a similar product but obtained from a polymerization reaction using between 5 and 45 ppm cross-linking agent considerable advantages are obtained. Especially, the delivery of fragrance present in the softening composition is more efficiently carried over to the fabrics to be treated.

Capsule filling device and method of operation

A device and method of operation for filling medicine capsules, in which a fixed quantity of open capsules to be filled are supported in a circular array by a holder plate beneath the periphery of a rotatable distribution drum. In use, a measured supply of filling medication, in dry granular form, is dispensed into the center of the rotating drum where it is distributed evenly by centrifugal force along the periphery of the drum. As the drum stops rotating, the medication flows by gravity into the capsules, which are then inspected, closed and packaged. The distribution of filler material is more even than if the capsules were filled by hand, and the average quantity (both by volume and by weight) of the filling material per capsule in the batch is variable to suit an individual patient's needs, and very accurately known. In addition, two or more compatible filler medications may be mixed in the same capsules to suit the specialized needs of a particular user. Because the provided quantity of medication is completely distributed into each batch of capsules, inadvertent double-filling is prevented.

Non-corrosive sterilant composition

InactiveUS7056536B2Good sterilization abilityComplicates disposalBiocideInorganic phosphorous active ingredientsChemistryBuffering agent
A non-corrosive, liquid, aqueous sterilant composition (as a concentrate or ready-to-use solution), which may be provided in two parts which are mixed prior to application, may comprise a peracid (in an equilibrium solution with an underlying carboxylic acid or mixtures of alkyl carboxylic acids and peroxide), inorganic buffering agent, and water. It has been found that the use of this simplified system, even in the absence of additional components which have been thought to be desirable for sterilants used on metal parts (e.g., copper and brass corrosion inhibitors, chelating agents, anti-corrosive agents) display excellent performance and that these additional components are not necessary, and that the presence of these additional materials at least complicates disposal of the spent solutions and could complicate compatibility of the sterilant solutions with some polymeric materials, especially where organic materials are used as the additional components, which organic materials may interact with, dissolve or solubilize in the polymeric materials.

Cooking container and microwave oven having such container

A cooking container designed to brown and scorch slightly both sides of food at the same time, and a microwave oven having such a cooking container. This cooking container includes a pan body and a lid, each including a heating part generating heat using microwaves and a heat transfer part transferring heat from the heating part to food. The body of the container has a first cooking part covered with the lid, and a second cooking part having an open top. A plurality of embossments are provided on each of the first cooking part and the lid while being regularly spaced apart from each other, and so both sides of sliced bread laid in the first cooking part are thus browned and scorched slightly during the process of cooking. The second cooking part is used for frying eggs. A coated layer is formed on the inside surface of each heat transfer part of the container, thus preventing a corrosion of the heat transfer part and a sticking of food to the heat transfer part. The pan body and the lid are seated in the cooking cavity while being contained in upper and lower casings made of a material capable of transmitting microwaves.

Method for rapid aided detection of micro-plastics in water environment samples by using Nile red dyeing

A method for rapid aided detection of micro-plastics in water environment samples by using Nile red dyeing belongs to the field of environmental pollution control. The method comprises the following steps: firstly preparing a Nile red dye solution with Nile red and an acetone solution; preparing an ink-dyed organic film; next, before the dyeing, adding the working solution of the Nile red dye solution filtered by the organic film to the water sample to dye the water into a light blue color; filtering the dyed water sample by the organic film dyed with ink; finally, placing the filtered organicfilm in a culture dish, and uniformly coating glue on the filter to fix the substance on the filter for subsequent analysis and use. The method utilizes micro-plastics on a hydrophobic surface to adsorb Nile red dye solution, and observes the fluorescent substance on the filter by a fluorescence microscope at a wavelength of 450-490 nm to perform Raman detection. The method provided by the invention is simple and quick to prepare the dyeing agent, good in adsorption effect, and simple in dyeing method, and is not only short in time consumption, low in cost, but also can eliminate interferenceof some non-plastic materials, compared with the direct visual inspection method.

Method for preparing sugar chains from antibodies

A method allowing easy and quick preparation of sugar chains of antibodies is provided. Sugar chains are cut off from the antibodies in a state where the antibodies are kept being bonded to an absorbing materials, such as the Protein A or the Protein G. Then, the cut off sugar chains are captured to sugar-chain-capturing solid-phase carriers having a functional group that forms a stable bonding with the sugar chains by reacting specifically with the aldehyde groups of the sugar chains. Then, the captured sugar chains are re-released. Sugar chain samples suitable for mass spectrometry, chromatography, or electrophoresis can be prepared easily and quickly by the present method.

Method for characterizing damage effect of toxin to living cells by SERS spectroscopy

The invention provides a method for characterizing the damage effect of toxin to living cells by SERS (surface enhanced Raman scattering) spectroscopy. Application of SERS spectroscopy to living cellcharacterization not only expands the new application of SERS spectroscopy, but also has potential application prospects in study of living cell damage. A TAT functionalized SERS probe is employed asthe Raman enhancement substrate, and enters living cells in a transmembrane way through receptor dependence mediated endocytosis, thus enhancing the Raman signal of cells themselves. The average SERSspectrum change of the cells before and after the action of toxin is detected to realize characterization of cell damage, also differential spectrum analysis and PCA are utilized to contrast the difference of cells on which the toxin acts for different periods of time, thus identifying and differentiating cells under different states. In order to further verify the cell apoptosis level, the Annexin V-FITC / PI double-staining reagent and flow cytometry are utilized to quantify the apoptosis situation. The method provided by the invention can achieve real-time nondestructive monitoring of the damage effect of toxin to living cells, and is simple and practicable, convenient and efficient.
