Golf Swing Measurement and Analysis System

An integrated golf club and analysis system that measures and analyze the performance characteristics of both: 1) a free golf swing without impact with a golf ball and 2) a golf swing with ball impact analysis. Free swing analysis provides critical information needed to analyze swing style so that dynamics swing characteristics optimization can be evaluated throughout the entire swing without ball impact, while impact analysis provides critical information on ball impact location on the club face, however, they cannot be measured simultaneously since ball impact eliminates the ability to identify the swing metric peaks such as velocity if it were to occur after ball impact. To achieve both, an integrated electronics golf club head comprises multiple types of sensors for measuring club head motion, impact and spatial location information with a weight and balance of a regulation golf club head.

Recovery of ethylene and propylene from a methanol to olefin reaction system

The present invention provides new highly-efficient separation processes and systems for separating polymerization-grade ethylene and propylene from an initial effluent stream comprising ethane, ethylene, propylene, dimethyl ether, and one or more of propane, acetylene, methyl acetylene, propadiene, methane, hydrogen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and C4+ components. In one embodiment, the initial effluent stream is provided from a methanol-to-olefin reaction system. It has been discovered that an efficient separation of these components is realized when DME is partially removed in a first separation step comprising methanol and water washing steps, followed by separation of the remaining components in additional separation steps.

Method for improving the efficiency of weighted random pattern tests through reverse weight simulation using effective pattern masks

InactiveUS6658616B1Improve efficiencyReduce cost of useDigital circuit testingError detection/correctionRandom pattern testingTester device
A method is defined which reduces the number of applied test patterns while maintaining identical fault coverage for a given set of weighted random patterns. Reduction is accomplished by simulating the weight sets in reverse order against a full (untested) fault list but allowing fault mark-off for initially effective patterns only (patterns which detected faults). This results in some patterns which initially detected only a few faults (due to their exposure to a small untested fault list) to detect a greater number of faults (due to their exposure to a full fault list), while other patterns which were initially effective become ineffective (detected no faults). Since the same faults are still detected there is no loss of coverage. Only those patterns which remain effective after exercising the reverse simulation are ultimately applied on the tester.

Magnetic blade retainer for a broadhead

A magnetic blade retainer for an expandable broadhead utilizing the properties of magnetic attraction to reliably secure a plurality of blades completely within respective blade channels so that an expandable broadhead may closely resemble the flight properties of a practice arrow tip yet lethally expand upon impact with a target. Extraneous parts are eliminated, but a strong, disc magnet is inset or integrated into the forward portion of a broadhead tip assembly. Each blade is provided with a magnetic, flat forward end. The interaction of the flat forward end and the magnet magnetically retain each blade. The magnetic bond is broken when the arrow penetrates a target. An actuating spike further transfers the impact energy to each blade. The forces on the actuating spike then drag each blade backward and each blade extends as the rearward forces are translated by the wedging surface near the end of the channel.

A golf club head may include a face with an embedded monolith having first and second sensors for measuring impact with a golf ball. The first and second sensors may output positive and negative pressure signals at the same time, caused by the impact, with the negative pressure indicating an outward bowing of the monolith whereas the positive pressure indicates an inward compression. These positive and negative values may be captured over the duration of impact and used to create a time-varying impact pressure profile with increased accuracy. The club head may also include a mechanism for placing a static pressure on the monolith, increasing negative pressure sensitivity and adjusting the ability to measure negative impact pressures away from the contact point on the club face.
