The present invention relates to a dye based circularly polarizing film for organic light emitting diodes, which includes a polarized light film made of
polyvinyl alcohol and 1 / 4 wave plate, characterized in that, the polarized light film is color
dyeing and spreading through configuring a high
dichroism dye. In the absorption
wavelength region 500-640 nm, the principal absorption
wavelength bandwidth is 80-120 nm and the average monolithic
transmittance is 53 -59% in the visible
wavelength 380-780 nm. Utilizing the characteristic of the
photopic vision phenomena and the
green light having the highest luminous efficiency in the
OLED tricolor, the color polarized light film is used to confine the wavelength 500-640 nm and replaces the film with no reflection that restrains the full wavelength of the visible light, so the
circular polarization sheet which has the contrast with no evident depress is produced and the external
quantum efficiency is improved by 25-37%. Jointed on one side of the
cellulose triacetated film of the two sides of the polarized light film, anti dazzle or low reflective
coating or the film having the two functions, is used to improve the contrast. The invention can improve the luminous efficiency, reduce the
electric power consumption and advance the life of the
OLED.
