A method for producing a three-dimensionally shaped object, includes the steps of: (i) forming a solidified layer by irradiating a light beam on a specified portion of a powder layer placed on a shaping table to sinter or melt the specified portion; (ii) forming another solidified layer by placing a new powder layer on the solidified layer thus obtained, and irradiating the light beam on a specified portion of the new powder layer to sinter or melt the specified portion of the new powder layer; and (iii) repeating the step (ii) to produce a three-dimensionally shaped object. When performing the steps (i) to (iii) within a chamber, at least a part of an ambient gas in the chamber is exhausted from the chamber through a gas passage of a shaping tank.

Agricultural article inspection apparatus and method employing spectral manipulation to enhance detection contrast ratio

A sorting system (110) conveys articles, such as peaches (114) on a conveyor belt (112) past an inspection zone (126) that is lighted by an illumination source (90) radiating a number of emission peaks over visible and infrared portions of the spectrum. The illumination source generates the radiation from an Indium Iodide lamp (92) that is reflected off a parabolic reflector (94) and through a "soda straw" collimator (100) to illuminated the peaches. A detector system (118) employs line scanning visible and infrared cameras (142, 140) to sense visible and IR wavelength reflectance values for the peach meat (124) and peach pit or pit fragments (126). Various image processing and analysis methologies, such as subtraction, ratio, logarithmic, regression, combination, angle, distance, and shape may be employed to enhance the image contrast and classify the resulting data for sorting the peaches. Employing subtraction also cancels "glint" caused by specular reflections of the illumination source off the peaches and into the cameras.

A multilayer capacitor includes a multilayer body as a main body of the multilayer capacitor, in which a plurality of internal electrodes and stacked dielectric layers each interposed between the internal electrodes are disposed, being stacked in a stack direction, and dielectrics are disposed on an outer periphery side of the plural internal electrodes, wherein: a pair of upper and lower margin portions in which no internal electrode exists are disposed respectively between end faces positioned in the stack direction of the multilayer body and the internal electrodes that are the closest to the end faces positioned in the stack direction; a pair of right and left margin portions in which no internal electrode exists are disposed respectively between end faces positioned in a direction intersecting the stack direction of the multilayer body and end portions of the internal electrodes; and dimensions of the upper and lower margin portions and dimensions of the right and left margin portions are all 50 μm to 200 μm, and a difference between the dimensions of the upper and lower margin portions and the dimensions of the right and left margin portions is within 20% of the dimensions of the upper and lower margin portions. Therefore, a multilayer capacitor is obtained that not only realizes both downsizing and higher capacity but also is excellent in thermal stress resistance even when a large number of layers of internal electrodes are stacked.

The detection sorting device provided by the invention has the advantages that the automatic feed, detection and sorting of the steel balls are realized, a detection process is that two-dimensional motion of a traditional unfolding disc is changed into single one-dimensional rolling of one-sided steel balls, the detection efficiency is high, a false drop ratio and an omission ratio are low, and the steel balls are not magnetized or the surfaces of the steel balls are not damaged in a detection process.
