Stator coil assembly for superconducting rotating machines

A stator support system for supporting a stator coil assembly includes a inner support tube having an outer surface; spaced windings supported on the inner support tube with spaces between adjacent windings defining gaps; support members, each disposed within one of the gaps and having a first and second edge configured to mechanically engage the outer surface of the inner support tube; and a cross support positioned over the spaced winding and extending perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the stator coil assembly. The cross support having a first edge configured to mechanically engage the second edge of the support members. The stator coil assembly can include a stator coil having at least one conductive winding; an electrically insulating material disposed around the stator coil; at least one cooling conduit for receiving a coolant from an outside source, the at least one cooling conduit disposed adjacent a first portion of an outer surface of the stator coil; and a thermally conductive member including graphite and disposed around the at least one cooling conduit and a second portion of the outer surface of the stator coil to transfer heat from the second portion to the at least one cooling conduit, thereby reducing the temperature gradient in the electrically insulating material.

Composite isolation joint for gap sub or internal gap

ActiveUS20140265304A1Excellent isolationImprove performance and durabilityDrilling rodsConstructionsTelemetryConductive composites
A non-conductive composite insert is provided between conductive portions, useful, for example, in downhole EM telemetry applications as an external “gap sub” in a drill collar, or as a sonde-based internal gap. In a preferred embodiment, the composite is made from a glass-fiber reinforced plastic, and separates non-magnetic conductive portions made from stainless steel. The composite insert provides a slanted or tapered transition into the conductive portions at either or both ends of the insert. The transitions on the composite insert may comprise one or more tapered surfaces, which may be male or female in configuration with respect to matching transitions on the conductive portions. The transitions may be bonded together by adhesive, or alternatively may be threaded.

Oxygen-reduction and quality-guaranteeing processing method of Chinese walnut kernels

The invention discloses an oxygen-reduction and quality-guaranteeing processing method of Chinese walnut kernels. The oxygen-reduction and quality-guaranteeing processing method comprises the following steps: (1) removing an astringent taste at low temperature: preparing a tannase astringent taste removing solution; pouring the Chinese walnut kernels into the astringent taste removing solution; heating to keep the temperature of the astringent taste removing solution to be 50 DEG C or lower and carrying out astringent taste removal; (2) enabling the Chinese walnut kernels to be tasty in vacuum; (3) standing at low temperature to enable the taste to be uniform; (4) baking by sections: baking a semi-finished product obtained by step (3) by adopting a section temperature-change baking technology and raising the temperature section by section; (5) rapidly cooling: rapidly lowing the temperature to be 15 DEG C or lower; (6) packaging in vacuum. The oxygen-reduction and quality-guaranteeingprocessing method disclosed by the invention adopts a technology of enabling a product to be tasty in vacuum, so that on one hand, oxygen in a tasty environment is reduced; on the other hand, the temperature of a material solution is low; the defects of an existing technology of enabling the product to be tasty can be effectively solved, without the need of continuously stirring.

Aqueous adhesive for bonding elastomers

An adhesive composition containing an aqueous butadiene polymer latex, and an acid scavenging compound, wherein the adhesive comprises essentially no phenolic resin or methylene donor compounds. The aqueous covercoat adhesive is particularly well suited for rubber to metal bonding applications. The adhesive have shown excellent adhesion to a number of compounds but perform best on natural rubber compounds and prefer higher cure temperatures to lower cure temperatures. Further, the formulation has been developed without the need for a methylene donor such as 2-polyoxymethylene dimethylether (gamma POM).
