A reflector 3 having a bottom section 4 and a slope section 13 surrounding the periphery of the bottom section 4 is provided, and an LED 5 is mounted on the center of the bottom section 4. A holder section 9 of a light control means 7 is detachably mounted to cover a lens 6 of the LED 5, while a circular plate section 18 of the light control means 7 is provided with a main reflecting section 11 and a reflecting transmission section 12. The main reflecting section 11 is designed to reduce the transmission amount from the LED 5, thereby causing most of the light to reflect on the reflector 3 side. On the other hand, the reflecting transmission section 12 permits a larger amount of transmission than in the main reflecting section 11. In this manner, it is possible to realize substantially uniform brightness in the entire upper section of the reflector 3 by the light transmitted through the main reflecting section 11 and the reflecting transmission section 12 and the light diffusely reflected from the reflector 3.

Electric vehicle

An electric vehicle is provided, which includes a circuit for discharging a capacitor which smoothes electric current of a power converter. A hybrid vehicle includes a capacitor for smoothing electric current, a discharge circuit, and a discharge controller. The discharge circuit is connected to the capacitor in parallel. The discharge circuit includes a series circuit configured by a first resistor, a PTC thermistor, and a switch. When the discharge controller closes the switch, electric current starts to flow through the first resistor and the PTC thermistor. The capacitor is discharged rapidly. When continuing inflow of electric current to the discharge circuit is more than envisaged, the temperature rises due to heat generation by the PTC thermistor itself, and resistance increases. Thereupon, the electric current flowing into the first resistor is suppressed, suppressing heat generation of the first resistor.

Battery charging circuit

A battery charging circuit includes a power supply circuit being connected via a switching element and a current-limiting resistor to a battery to subject the battery to a trickle charge, and a control circuit turning on and off the switching element on a given duty to subject the battery to the trickle charge by means of a pulsed charge. The control circuit includes an on-timing adjustment circuit detecting a battery voltage to control the duty of turning on and off the switching element. The on-timing adjustment circuit makes a duty ratio smaller in a state of a low battery voltage than in a state of a high battery voltage and turns on and off the switching element to perform the trickle charge by means of the pulsed charge.

A space probing apparatus is provided that can further enhance its thermal protective function for electronic apparatuses and batteries that are apparatuses each having a narrow range of permissible temperature.
The space probing apparatus includes, as a vehicle body 1 that is an apparatus body, an inner housing 13 that accommodates an electronic apparatus 11 and a battery 12, and an outer housing 15 that accommodates the inner housing 13 supporting the inner housing 13 afloat therein. A thermal insulating layer 16 is formed between the inner housing 13 and the outer housing 15 using a space therebetween. A heat dissipating body 17 is included in an upper portion of the inner housing 13. A lid 18 is included in an upper portion of the outer housing 15. The whole outer faces of the inner and the outer housings 13 and 15 are each covered with a thermal insulating material 20. Thereby, in the nighttime, the temperature of the battery 12 is maintained using the least necessary amount of heat generated and, thereby, the electronic apparatus 11 and the battery 12 are protected from an ultralow temperature. In the daytime, the lid 18 is opened and heat is discharged using the heat dissipating body 17 and, thereby, the electronic apparatus 11 and the battery 12 are protected from a high temperature.
