The invention discloses a compound capable of being used as a reactive navy blue dye. The structural general formula of the compound is as shown in Specification, wherein R1 represents either H or SO3H, and R2 is H, Cl, SO3H, CH3 or OCH3. The preparation method comprises the following steps: generating a diazonium salt component from a reaction among 4-(beta-hydroxyethyl sulfonyl sulfate) aniline, a wetting agent, hydrochloric acid and sodium nitrite; then, adding H acid to the diazonium salt component, and carrying out acidic coupling until the diazonium salt disappears; and performing alkaline coupling with diazonium salt generated under an action of 2-[2-(4-aminobenzenesul fonamide) ethyl sulfonyl] ethanol sulfate, a wetting agent, hydrochloric acid and sodium nitrite, filtering after the alkaline coupling, collecting a filtrate, and directly spray-drying to obtain a half-finished product. The compound disclosed by the invention has the characteristics of being bright in color, high in solubility, low in substantivity, good in compatibility, high in lifting capacity, high in fixation rate, good in various fastnesses, and the like; and rub resistance and washing fastness are higher than ordinary varieties of 0.5-1 grade.
