System and method for enforcing communications bandwidth based service level agreements to plurality of customers hosted on a clustered web server

A method and system for controlling and guaranteeing a service level agreement (SLA) based on a communications outbound link bandwidth usage to a plurality of customers having electronic business activity hosted by at least one server as a server farm, includes monitoring the outbound communications bandwidth usage by each customer traffic to determine a level of service being provided to each customer with respect to the agreed service level agreement in each service cycle time per unit of time. The flow of incoming requests to each customer business activity application is controlled so as to guarantee a level of service previously agreed to the customer by queuing requests to the customer and by selectively dropping requests to the customer to guarantee the agreed service levels to the customer. The controlling process controls and guarantees each outbound link usage based service level agreement by controlling the flow of incoming requests to the at least one server.

Repair circuit and method of repairing defects in a semiconductor memory device

ActiveUS20070133323A1Reduce negative layout impactNegative impactRead-only memoriesDigital storageElectricityGenerating unit
A repair circuit and a method of repairing defects in a semiconductor memory device are disclosed. The repair circuit of a semiconductor memory device includes an address generating unit, an address electrical fuse (e-fuse) box unit, a row / column selecting e-fuse unit, a row repair control unit, and a column repair control unit. The address generating unit generates a row address or a column address in response to a control signal, the address e-fuse box unit stores a defective address after packaging, and the row / column selecting e-fuse unit generates a select signal for determining whether the defective address corresponds to a row defect or a column defect. The row repair control unit compares the defective address after packaging with the row address in response to a first state of the select signal, and the column repair control unit compares the defective address after packaging with the column address in response to a second state of the select signal.

In a system comprising a first access point serving a first wireless network; and a neighbouring access point serving a neighbouring wireless network having coverage overlapping with the first wireless network, where the first access point and the neighbouring access point transmit beacon messages at beacon times that are temporally separated by predetermined beacon periods, a method of operating the system is disclosed, the method comprising: the first access point sending a first offer to the neighbouring access point, the first offer offering a period of silent time to the neighbouring access point during which period of silent time the first access point silences the first wireless network, the period of silent time being independent of the beacon times and the beacon periods.

Intracavity frequency-doubled diode-pumped laser

A diode-pumped laser is disclosed with internal frequency doubling to prevent interfering power fluctuations in the laser radiation generated by the non-linear crystal at the start of the power adjustment in a simple and, therefore, inexpensive construction without power-reducing elements in the cavity or thermal effects having a negative impact on the laser behavior. The laser contains, as laser-active medium, a solid-state laser crystal with a temperature gradient directed substantially parallel to the cavity axis. The conversion of laser radiation of a fundamental laser wavelength into laser radiation of another wavelength is carried out by a non-linear optical crystal with a lower non-linear conversion efficiency than that required for achieving maximum power of the converted laser radiation. The laser can be used particularly for medical purposes, e.g., in the field of ophthalmology for coagulation of the retina as well as in the field of dermatology.

Ash insulation panels

InactiveUS20160002923A1Rationalize consumptionSustains environmentConstruction materialClimate change adaptationThermal insulationAbsorption rate
The present invention relates to ash recycling and use in thermal insulation (decrease of thermal transmission from inside buildings into outside, and vice versa). Ash insulation panels are made of the following basic materials: ash and Polystyrene (PS) and / or waste plastics made of Polystyrene and chemical bond. These panels have many advantages beside thermal insulation such as lightweight and low water absorption rate. They are produced by mixing the mentioned basic materials, casting the mixture into molds of variable size and shape depending on the desired product, pressing the mold, and treating the final product thermally.
