Detection of abnormal signal traces in electrochemical measurements generated using an electrochemical test strip to which a potential is applied allows for an indication of an erroneous analyte determination. The current trace has an expected shape in which a peak current is observed a time tpeak after which there is a decrease in current. To detect abnormal signal traces, the time tpeak is determined experimentally and compared with an expected value, t′peak, and if the difference between the two values to over a predetermined threshold, an error message is provided to the user instead of a test result. The value of t′peak is determined as a function of a mobility term that is determined during a potentiometry phase following the amperometric measurements.

The present teachings relate to methods and apparatus for depositing one or more materials (e.g., one or more films, such as one or more solids) on one or more substrates, which may form part of an OLED or other type(s) of display. In some embodiments, the disclosure relates to apparatus and methods for depositing ink on one or more substrates. The apparatus can include, for example, one or more chambers for receiving ink, and plural orifices configured in the one or more chambers which are adapted for ejecting droplets of the ink; a discharge nozzle comprising an array of micro-pores (e.g., configured in a rectangular array), with each micro-pore having an inlet port and an outlet port, and the discharge nozzle receiving plural quantities (e.g., droplets) of ink from the chamber(s) via the orifices at the inlet ports and dispensing the ink from the outlet ports. The droplets of ink can be received at unique, spaced-apart locations on the inlet ports of the discharge nozzle. In some embodiments, a single liquid ink-holding chamber, which includes plural orifices (e.g., three), receives ink in liquid form having a plurality of suspended particles, and droplets of the ink are ejected substantially simultaneously from the chamber to respective, spaced-apart locations on the discharge nozzle; and the discharge nozzle evaporates the carrier liquid and deposits the solid particles on one or more substrates.

The material is structurally characterized by adopting a core-shell structure and comprises an active and stable core formed by uniformly dispersing submicron-grade multi-scale tungsten carbide particles in an amorphous silicon substrate and a highly-conductive shell coated with a thin-layer graphene sheet formed by stripping. The preparation method is a two-step ball-milling method, during ball milling in the first step, the tungsten carbide particles can fully play a milling assisting role to efficiently refine original coarse silicon; during ball milling in the second step, the graphene sheet formed by stripping ordinary graphite can stabilize the structure and improve the electrical conductivity. Therefore, the prepared anode material for the lithium-ion battery has the advantages of stable structure, good cycle performance, excellent rate performance and the like.

Lithium ion battery anode material and preparation method thereof

The invention discloses a lithium ion battery anode material and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method comprises the following steps: (1), preparing thermal expansion graphite sheets; (2), mixing nano silicon powder, cane sugar and the thermal expansion graphite sheets, adding the obtained mixture to a mixed solution of ethanol and deionized water, stirring and then carrying out solution ball-milling, wherein the ball-milling speed is 800-1600rpm and the ball-milling time is 2-4 hours, so as to obtain an anode material precursor solution; and (3), drying the anode material precursor solution, and carrying out carbonization heat treatment in the atmosphere of a protective gas, so as to obtain the lithium ion battery anode material. The structure characteristics of the lithium ion battery anode material are that nano silicon particles are evenly dispersed on a graphene nanosheet base body and the outermost layer is coated with carbon. The preparation method disclosed by the invention is a method of combining heat treatment with solution ball-milling, and has the characteristics of being simple, efficient and the like; industrialized production is easy to realize; and the lithium ion battery anode material prepared by the method has the advantages of stable structure, good cycle performance and the like.

A novel reaction discovery system that does not depend on DNA duplex formation is provided. The advantages of this system include exploring reactions conditions not possible where DNA hybridization is required. For example, the inventive reaction discovery system allows for reaction conditions using organic solvents, higher temperatures, and water-insoluble reagents, catalysts, and ligands. Thereafter, in an optimum power inspection / extraction step, the polycrystalline silicon film formed with varying film quality on the monitor substrate is inspected on inspection equipment to determine the optimum laser power. Then, in a laser processing step, the surface of the subsequent substrates having undergone the SPC step is irradiated with laser at the optimum laser power. Thus, high-quality polycrystalline silicon film is formed over the entire area of the substrate.

Combine Harvester Grain Cleaning Apparatus

A combine harvester (10) comprises a transverse threshing unit (26) arranged to receive and thresh a crop stream. Separating apparatus (32,36) are located downstream and rearward of the threshing unit and arranged to receive the threshed crop stream and convey in a rearward direction. Both the threshing unit and separating apparatus comprise respective grates (34, 42) for allowing grain and chaff to fall under gravity onto an underlying thresher pan (28) and separator pan (44) respectively. The thresher pan is driven in an oscillating manner to convey a primary grain / chaff stream rearwardly to a rear edge (49) from where the primary grain / chaff stream fails under gravity into a cleaning unit (48). The separator pan is also driven in an oscillating manner to convey a secondary grain / chaff stream forwardly to a front edge from where the secondary grain / chaff stream falls under gravity to combine with the primary grain / chaff stream. The cleaning unit comprising a fan (52) for generating a cleaning airstream (X,Y) which is directed through the falling grain / chaff stream. The separator pan front edge is disposed forwardly of the thresher pan rear edge by an overlap distance such that the secondary grain / chaff stream falls onto the thresher pan and stratifies before falling off the rear edge thereof.
