The present teachings relate to methods and apparatus for depositing one or more materials (e.g., one or more films, such as one or more solids) on one or more substrates, which may form part of an OLED or other type(s) of display. In some embodiments, the disclosure relates to apparatus and methods for depositing ink on one or more substrates. The apparatus can include, for example, one or more chambers for receiving ink, and plural orifices configured in the one or more chambers which are adapted for ejecting droplets of the ink; a discharge nozzle comprising an array of micro-pores (e.g., configured in a rectangular array), with each micro-pore having an inlet port and an outlet port, and the discharge nozzle receiving plural quantities (e.g., droplets) of ink from the chamber(s) via the orifices at the inlet ports and dispensing the ink from the outlet ports. The droplets of ink can be received at unique, spaced-apart locations on the inlet ports of the discharge nozzle. In some embodiments, a single liquid ink-holding chamber, which includes plural orifices (e.g., three), receives ink in liquid form having a plurality of suspended particles, and droplets of the ink are ejected substantially simultaneously from the chamber to respective, spaced-apart locations on the discharge nozzle; and the discharge nozzle evaporates the carrier liquid and deposits the solid particles on one or more substrates.

Humidifier with back-flow prevention valve

A humidifier for use with a pressure support system. The humidifier includes a body having an inlet, a fluid holding chamber, and an outlet. The inlet is positioned upstream and in fluid communication with the fluid holding chamber. The outlet is positioned downstream of and in fluid communication with the fluid holding chamber. A back-flow preventing valve is positioned upstream of the fluid chamber. The back-flow preventing valve is movable between an open position, in which the inlet is unblocked, and a closed position in which the inlet is blocked. In the closed position, the back-flow preventing valve prevents fluid, fluid vapor, or both from entering the pressure support via the inlet to the humidifier.

Aerosol deliver apparatus IV

A multipurpose aerosol medication delivery apparatus that includes a collapsible/expandable, or a fixed volume, or a combination of partially fixed volume and partially collapsible/expandable holding chamber for use with a metered dosed inhaler (MDI) and/or any standard small volume nebulizer. The holding chamber is designed to deliver-aerosol medication particles generated by an MDI; aerosol medication particles generated by a nebulizer; a single gas or a mixture of gases; a single gas or a mixture of gases that can yield a gas density that will enhance aerosol delivery of medication with both MDI and nebulizer; a single gas or a mixture of gases that will yield and deliver an oxygen concentration to a patient ranging from room air concentration to 100%. The device includes a reservoir that stores nebulized aerosol generated during exhalation to be inhaled during the next breath. The device also included a one way valve to prevent carbon dioxide generated during exhalation from rebreathing by not allowing the exhaled air from entering the holding chamber. The device includes an exit port with a second one way valve that allows the exhaled air to exit the device but closes during inhalation to prevent any entrainment of room air gas. The exit port may instead have a filter with one-way valve to trap the exhaled aerosol particles while allowing the exhaled gases to escape. The filter valve will similarly close during inhalation to prevent entrainment of room air gas. The holding chamber will allow a uniform mixture of aerosol medication and gases to flow together during inhalation to the patient via a mouthpiece or a facemask. The holding chamber is connected to a nebulizer chamber with a single or multiple connecting tubes that allow gas mixtures with varying density, viscosity, humidity and concentration of oxygen to flow into the holding chamber from the nebulizer chamber. The pattern of flow of the gas(es) does not disturb the flow of the nebulized medication from the nebulizer chamber to the holding chamber or interfere with the plume generated by an MDI. The device also serves as a facemask for delivering precise concentrations of oxygen or as a 100% non-rebreather mask. The device also serves to deliver precise concentrations of different density gases i.e. nitrogen, helium, oxygen, etc. This will allow varying fractions of inspired oxygen to deliver aerosol medication via MDI or a nebulizer. Thus, the device has the ability to deliver aerosol medication with an MDI or a nebulizer while retaining the ability to simultaneously deliver different density gas mixtures and varying fraction of inspired oxygen without interrupting one for the other.

Aerosol enhancement device

An aerosol medication delivery apparatus includes a fixed volume holding chamber which is constructed to allow for a uniformly mixed, concentrated bolus of medicated aerosol to be delivered with each breath. The device further includes a universal inlet, so that any standard small volume nebulizer, as well as any standard metered dose inhaler (MDI), may be utilized therewith. Also filtration can be added to address contaminated patient air and aerosol. A one-way valve is positioned in the patient mouthpiece, to help control the loss of aerosol, and thereby reduce waste.

Escape-proof repeating animal trap

Repeating animal traps incorporating one or more inclined plane trap assemblies with means to preclude an animal on the tilting floor member of the trap assembly from engaging the top and/or side edges of the door member of the trap assembly in an attempt to escape from the trap by pulling the door member down to thereby unblock access to the entrance opening. Additional means are shown to preclude an animal within the enlarged holding chamber or enclosure of the repeating animal trap from engaging the inner end portions of the floor member in an attempt to escape from the trap by pulling the floor member down, enabling the animal to climb onto the floor member and then attempt to pull the door member down to escape from the trap. A barrier in the form of sharpened projections and/or an inclined ramp is provided beneath the inner end portions of the floor member to discourage an animal entering or nesting within that space when the floor member is raised in the reset position of the trap assembly. The barrier can include an inclined ramp whereby the space between the floor member and the ramp is decreased as an additional animal enters the trap assembly, to push an animal beneath the tilting floor member back into the enclosure. A plastic version of the repeating animal trap assembly enables thermoforming of many of the structural elements into the housing cover. Catches are also provided to selectively secure a glue board to the cover of the repeating animal trap to capture an animal attempting to bypass the entrance openings of the trap by running over the trap housing.
