Electrode, electrochemical device, method for manufacturing electrode, and method for manufacturing electrochemical device

The electrode of the present invention is provided with an active material-containing layer comprising as the structural material composite particles composed of an electrode active material, a conductive additive and a binder, and a current collector in electrical contact with the layer. The composite particles are formed by integrating the conductive additive and binder with the electrode active material particles. The active material-containing layer is formed by subjecting powder comprising at least the composite particles to pressurization treatment to form a sheet, and placing the sheet at the location of the current collector at which the active material-containing layer is to be formed. The electrode active material and conductive additive in the active material-containing layer are non-isolated and electrically linked. This construction allows an electrode with excellent electrical characteristics to be realized, which exhibits adequately reduced internal resistance and easily permits increased energy density to be achieved for electrochemical devices.

Method of preventing the induction of aberrations in laser refractive surgery systems

The invention relates to a method of preventing the induction of aberrations in laser refractive surgery systems. Standard laser refractive surgery systems successfully correct low-order refractive errors (myopia, hypermetropia and astigmatism), but induce spherical aberration and, by extension, other high-order aberrations, which result in a worsening of vision quality. Said increase in spherical aberration is due to the shape of the cornea, and not inherent in the theoretical ablation profile, and, as a result, the problem is, in principle, common to all laser systems. The invention relates to a systematic method which can be used with any system and ablation profile in order to obtain a profile correction factor. The correction factor, which is specific to each system, can be applied in order to prevent the induction of spherical aberration and, in this way, improve the optical and visual quality of patients following surgery compared to surgery performed with standard systems. Moreover, the inventive method can be used to improve the production of lenses with controlled high-order aberrations using laser systems.

Thermal conductive substrate and semiconductor module using the same

A semiconductor module includes a circuit substrate composed of a wiring pattern, an electrical insulating layer and a thermal radiation board, and in use is fixed to an external thermal radiation member, in which the electrical insulating layer is composed of a thermal conductive mixture containing 70-95 wt % of an inorganic filler and 5-30 wt % of a thermosetting resin. A warping degree of the circuit substrate with respect to the external thermal radiation member is at most 1 / 500 of a length of the substrate, and the circuit substrate warps to protrude toward the thermal radiation board as the temperature rises. Accordingly, the thermal radiation property does not deteriorate even when the temperature rises in use. At a time of fixing the circuit substrate to the external thermal radiation member, the thermal resistance is kept to be a sufficiently low level. The thermal resistance is kept in a low level without sacrificing the contact between a module and the external thermal radiation member even at a high temperature during an operation of the device or the like, and the thermal conductive substrate is resistant to fractures or cracks and thus is highly reliable.
