The invention discloses an iron-like concentrate and a preparation method thereof. The method comprises the steps of dividing
nickel-containing residual ore into magnesia ore and ferrite ore; performing leaching treatment on the ferrite ore by utilizing
sulfuric acid at the temperature of 95-100 DEG C to obtain a leaching solution containing
ferric sulfate; filtering the leaching solution containing the
ferric sulfate to obtain first high-
silicon filter residue and first filtrate; performing first
neutralization treatment on the first filtrate by utilizing the magnesia ore; filtering the first filtrate after the first
neutralization treatment so as to produce second high-
silicon filter residue and second filtrate; performing second
neutralization treatment on the second filtrate by utilizing an alkaline neutralizing
reagent at the temperature of 95-105 DEG C, filtering and washing to obtain a precipitate containing iron compounds; performing alkaline washing on the iron compounds by utilizing an alkaline
reagent at the temperature of 85-90 DEG C, and then
drying to obtain a
hematite-like concentrate and a solution containing
nickel and
cobalt. Through the method, valuable metals in the
nickel-containing residual ore can be effectively recovered.
