Embolic protection systems

A system for enabling the insertion and removal of an embolic protection device, for capturing and retaining embolic debris which may be created during the performance of a therapeutic interventional procedure in a stenosed or occluded region of a blood vessel. The system, in an embodiment thereof, enables the device to be snap-fitted so as to engage the distal end of a guide wire, to be pre-formed for expansion thereof so as to seal off the inner surface of a blood vessel, to inhibit the forming of a gap therein, for inhibiting embolic material from passing therethrough, and to be foreshortened to enable insertion thereof through confined spaces. The system, in another embodiment thereof, enables expandable material to be formed into an expandable configuration of an embolic protection device for capturing embolic material, which is capable of sealing off the inner surface of the blood vessel.

The invention discloses a method for site-specific integration of a large DNA fragment in a mammalian cell through CRISPR / Cas9. The method comprises the following steps: (1) constructing a CRISPR / Cas9 targeting system of a target CCR5 gene, wherein the targeting system comprises a Cas9 / sgRNA expression vector and a targeting donor, the targeting donor comprises a promotor, a fluorescence labelling gene and a design, and the design of the targeting donor comprises a gRNA target sequence at the middle part and shares a homologous sequence with a target gene; (2) enabling the CRISPR / Cas9 targeting system to cotransfer the mammalian cell, separating the cell stably expressing fluorescence after cotransfecting, and conducting single cell clone culture; (3) detecting the site-specific integration efficiency through single cell clone PCR, and acquiring the efficient site-specific site-detected integration mammalian cell. The method can realize the site-specific site-detected integration of the large DNA fragment more than 6 kb in the mammalian cell.

Endoscopic image pickup method and magnetic resonance imaging device using the same

An endoscope-like image taking method of the present invention includes a preparation step of providing at least one peculiar index, which can be discriminated from other portions on an MR image, at the tip of a catheter, a first step (S1) of previously inserting a metal guide wire for guiding the catheter into a body cavity of a patient into which the catheter is inserted, a second step (S2) of inserting the catheter into the body cavity along the guide wire, a third step (S3) of executing an MR imaging sequence of a plurality of sliced images intersecting the guide wire, a fourth step (S4) of reconstructing three-dimensional image data based upon the nuclear magnetic resonance signals, which are generated from the patient when the sequence is executed and are received by the guide wire, and determining the tip position and the inserting direction of the catheter by detecting the peculiar index provided at the tip of the catheter based upon the three-dimensional image data, and a fifth step (S5) of reconstructing the center projected image using the three-dimensional image data and setting the tip position and the inserting direction of the catheter as a view point and a line-of-sight direction and displaying the center projected image on a display means, thereby an endoscope-like image, which is observed from the catheter in the body cavity of the patient, is taken and displayed in real time or semi-real time so that the insertion of the catheter is supported.

Method and system for segmenting wires prior to buffer insertion

A method and system for segmenting wires in the design stage of a integrated circuit to allow for the efficient insertion of an optimum quantity of buffers. The method begins by locating wires in the integrated circuit which interconnect transistors and then determining the characteristics of the transistor and the characteristics of the interconnecting wires. Next, the method computes a first upper limit for an optimum quantity of buffers utilizing total capacitive load wire and transistor characteristics, then the method computes a second upper limit for an optimum quantity of buffers assuming buffer insertion has decoupled the capacitive load. Finally, the method segments the wires by inserting nodes utilizing the greater of the first computation or the second computation. A determined upper limit on buffer quantity allows wires to be segmented such that the number of candidate buffer insertion topologies is manageable. Therefore, an optimum number of buffers can be efficiently inserted by buffer insertion method which utilize the segmented wires.

Apparatus to offload and accelerate pico code processing running in a storage processor

Apparatus and method offloads processing from a networking processor operating in a storage environment. Three main functions are offloaded: semaphore processing, frame order processing, and timer processing. Offloading of semaphore processing enables ordered access to semaphores. Offloading of frame order processing enables the network processor to quickly transmit an incoming frame if the incoming frame is the next one in the frame order. Offloading of timer processing enables background checking of the timer list.

System and method for indexing queries, rules and subscriptions

This invention introduces a new concept called virtual construct intervals (VCI), where each predicate interval is decomposed into one or more of these construct intervals. These VCIs strictly cover the predicate interval. Namely, every attribute value covered by the predicate interval is also covered by at least one of the decomposed VCIs, and vice versa. Each construct interval has a unique ID or interval coordinate and a set of endpoints. A construct interval is considered activated when a predicate interval using it in its decomposition is added to the system. The predicate ID is then inserted into the ID lists associated with the decomposed VCIs. To facilitate fast search, a bitmap vector is used to indicate the activation of VCIs that cover an event value. The challenge is to find an appropriate set of construct intervals to make predicate decomposition simple and, more importantly, to build efficient bitmap indexes. Because each construct interval covers only a small range of attribute values, the invention also uses bitmap clipping to cut unnecessary bitmap storage. To facilitate bitmap clipping, the invention introduce the covering segment concept. Bit positions outside a covering segment are pruned.

Method and device for data storage

The invention provides a method and a device for data storage so as to solve the problem of low memory utilization rate. The method includes that if requested data can be stored in a paging allocation memory block, an idle memory block is selected to store the requested data; and if data size is larger than the paging allocation memory block, a part of data of the requested data is stored in the idle memory block, the other part of surplus data is stored in one or a plurality of available memory blocks, and all the memory blocks storing the requested data are connected through indicating needles. The available memory blocks are scattered memory blocks, the size of the scattered memory blocks is not necessarily to be the same as that of the paging allocation memory block, and accordingly memory waste can be avoided to the greatest extent, and memory utilization rate can be improved to the maximum limit.
