A storage device made of flash memory module(s) and a storage device controller and a PCI Express interface unit, is implemented to be compatible with (1) either ATA, ATAPI, SCSI or proprietary specification, and (2) PCI Express platform such as, with then, ExpressCard Standard or PCI Express Card Specification or PCI Express Mini Card Specification. The device includes memory module(s), which can accept data transfer and configuration and status report to/from non-volatile solid-state memory herein referred to as flash memory module(s). A request transaction ordering method and system includes designing of the Open Core Protocol (OCP) bus to an Advanced extensible Interface (AXI) bus bridge. The general flow of the bridge is to accept a plurality of read and write requests from the OCP bus and convert them to a plurality of AXI read and write requests. Control logic is set for each first in first out policy of push and pop control and for a plurality of handshake signals in OCP and in the AXI. The request ordering part of the bridge performs hazard checking to preserve required order policies for both OCP and AXI bus protocols by using a FIFO (first in first out) policy to hold the outstanding writes, a plurality of comparators, a first in first out policy to hold OCP identities for a plurality of read requests.

A volatile storage device and a serial mixed storage system having the same are provided. The system includes an access controller, a data transmission interface, a volatile storage module, a power supply module, an expansion interface and a non-volatile storage module. The volatile storage module and non-volatile storage module are connected in series via the expansion interface. The volatile storage module and the non-volatile storage module can be used to store data under the control of the access controller. Further, the power supply module can supply the stored electric power to the access controller, volatile storage module, and non-volatile storage module, so as to keep data stored in the volatile storage module or transfer the data to the non-volatile storage module, thereby avoiding data loss caused by power cutoff.

The system has a server portion for loading and processing software code and server modules having user interface software code and presentation software code. Software interface code interacts with the presentation software code. The server modules are loaded dynamically. One or more server modules may request one or more additional server modules to be loaded. The abstraction objects are attached to objects representing actual human interface devices. The client portion processes multiple applications having the application specific code. Multiple applications may make requests on one server module.

A peripheral device is disclosed having two associated memory modules, and which is configured to fit within the ExpressCard slot. The invention provides an extension method for managing an IPMI (Intelligent Platform Management Interface) interface protocol by a server. In the method, server health information, video signals, storage information and resolution information are all stored in a Flashmemory in a BMC and then access can be carried out on the data through calling embedded base library functions which are compiled via C language. The method comprises the steps of: 1) establishing an extension interface protocol support environment through equipment such as an ICMB access switch, a storage board card and the like to ensure that the health information of the switch and storage equipment can be monitored and remote ON/OFF operations can be carried out on the equipment; 2) realizing an RPC (Remote Position Control) calling method, realizing bidirectional transmission of WebServer data by a user through a calling command, replacing XML (Extensive Makeup Language) by a JSON (Javascript Serialized Object Notation) structure for data storage, and respectively reading and writing JSON structure data at a client side and a server side by the user through JavaScript and embedded C language so as to realize command sending and state reading and writing; and 3) storing storage volume management information in the Flashmemory of the BMC via a form specified in IPMI standard, and carrying out access on the storage volume management information through an IPMI interface so as to carry out RAID (Redundant Array Of Independent Disks) and LVM (Logical Volume Manager) operations.

An ExpressCard device is applied to a computer system, and comprises a USB connector, an ExpressCard interface connector, and a control unit. The USB connector is used to connect with a USB interface provided by the computer system, the ExpressCard interface connector is used to connect with an ExpressCard interface provided by the computer system, and the control unit is used to transmit data to the computer system via either the ExpressCard interface connector or the USB connector at the same time.
