Shared progressive gaming system and method

A progressive system (local and wide) where a primary and secondary progressive meter is maintained is disclosed. When a progressive win event occurs, there are two payouts: the first payout (defined by the primary meter) is paid to the player triggering the progressive payout event; the second payout (defined by the secondary meter) is paid to other players (or game devices) having “active” or “enrolled” status at the time of the primary payout event. The present invention provides a method for automating the “shared” win, including means for readily determining “active” players. A countdown meter may be used to enable the player a sufficient amount of time to continue play and be considered “active.” Additionally display meters may be used to indicate the status of the player or to warn the player of an imminent change in status. The progressive prizes may be funded using traditional methods (e.g., percentage of wagers, marketing budget). The progressive prizes may also be funded using expired prizes which have expired or lapsed.

Method and system for selecting a preferred contact center agent based on agent proficiency and performance and contact center state

ActiveUS20050043986A1Good choiceHigh degree of impact on the center's operational effectivenessManual exchangesAutomatic exchangesTime informationOperational effectiveness
A method and system for selecting an agent to service a contact at a contact center accounts for the state of the contact center and for individual agent proficiency and performance. A software-implemented method includes an algorithm that adjusts the agent-selection process according to variations in state such as fluctuating call volume. When two or more metrics describe distinct aspects of an agent's performance and both aspects are relevant to agent selection, the algorithm can weigh each according to relative importance to the center's operational effectiveness. The present invention couples to the information infrastructure of a computer-based contact center and interfaces with the components of the center that acquire and maintain information pertinent to the agent-selection process. This connectivity delivers real-time information to the software algorithms and thereby facilitates rapid response to changing conditions.

Method and tool for network vulnerability analysis

InactiveUS7013395B1Avoid low successLow “ effort ” costMemory loss protectionUnauthorized memory use protectionLimited resourcesCountermeasure
A computer system analysis tool and method that will allow for qualitative and quantitative assessment of security attributes and vulnerabilities in systems including computer networks. The invention is based on generation of attack graphs wherein each node represents a possible attack state and each edge represents a change in state caused by a single action taken by an attacker or unwitting assistant. Edges are weighted using metrics such as attacker effort, likelihood of attack success, or time to succeed. Generation of an attack graph is accomplished by matching information about attack requirements (specified in “attack templates”) to information about computer system configuration (contained in a configuration file that can be updated to reflect system changes occurring during the course of an attack) and assumed attacker capabilities (reflected in “attacker profiles”). High risk attack paths, which correspond to those considered suited to application of attack countermeasures given limited resources for applying countermeasures, are identified by finding “epsilon optimal paths.”

Condition assessment of nonlinear processes

There is presented a reliable technique for measuring condition change in nonlinear data such as brain waves. The nonlinear data is filtered and discretized into windowed data sets. The system dynamics within each data set is represented by a sequence of connected phase-space points, and for each data set a distribution function is derived. New metrics are introduced that evaluate the distance between distribution functions. The metrics are properly renormalized to provide robust and sensitive relative measures of condition change. As an example, these measures can be used on EEG data, to provide timely discrimination between normal, preseizure, seizure, and post-seizure states in epileptic patients. Apparatus utilizing hardware or software to perform the method and provide an indicative output is also disclosed.

Method, apparatus and system for recognizing actions

An object of the present invention is to provide a method, an apparatus and a system for automatically recognizing motions and actions of moving objects such as humans, animals and machines.Measuring instruments are attached to an object under observation. The instruments measure a status change entailing the object's motion or action and to issue a signal denoting the measurements. A characteristic quantity extraction unit extracts a characteristic quantity from the measurement signal received which represents the motion or action currently performed by the object under observation. A signal processing unit for motion / action recognition correlates the extracted characteristic quantity with reference data in a database containing previously acquired characteristic quantities of motions and actions. The motion or action represented by the characteristic quantity with the highest degree of correlation is recognized and output.

Apparatus for reducing power supply noise in an integrated circuit

A main power supply continuously provides a current to a power input terminal of an integrated circuit device under test (DUT). The DUT's demand for current at the power input terminal temporarily increases during state changes in synchronous logic circuits implemented within the DUT. To limit variation (noise) in voltage at the power input terminal arising from these temporary increases in current demand, a charged capacitor is connected to the power input terminal during each DUT state change. The capacitor discharges into the power input terminal to supply additional current to meet the DUT's increased demand. Following each DUT state change the capacitor is disconnected from the power input terminal and charged to a level sufficient to meet a predicted increase in current demand during a next DUT state change.

Automated Malware Detection and Remediation

Systems and methods for detecting malware in a selected computer that is part of a network of computers. The approach includes inspecting a predetermined set of operational attributes of the selected computer to detect a change in a state of the selected computer. In response to a detected change in state, the selected computer is scanned to create a snapshot of the overall state of the selected computer. Determination of the clinical state of a subject

The invention relates to the determination of the clinical state of a subject. A respective adaptive transform is applied to at least one measurement signal acquired from the subject, each adaptive transform being dependent on previously acquired history data, and a diagnostic index is formed, which is dependent on the transformed measurement signal(s) and serves as a measure of the clinical state of the subject. In order to reliably evaluate the clinical state of a subject on a fixed diagnostic scale during changes in the state of the subject, some or all of the previously acquired history data on which an adaptive transform is currently dependent is replaced with other previously acquired history data when a predetermined event is detected. The predetermined event is indicative of a change in the respective measurement signal, and the introduction of the said other previously acquired history data sets the transform ready for the change.

Permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) servo system control method based on fuzzy and active disturbance rejection control

The invention relates to a PMSM servo system control method based on fuzzy and active disturbance rejection control. A position signal is given by a differential tracker to arrange a transition process so that the contradiction between rapidness and overshoot of a system is solved, and uncertainty, friction torques and external disturbance due to modeling errors of the system are observed via an expansion state observer; according to the error between the differentials generated by the differential tracker and state variation generated by the expansion state observer, a fuzzy inference rule is obtained with application of experimental experience of technical staff, so that a fuzzy rule control table of an error proportion coefficient, a differential coefficient and an integration coefficient is established; accurate control amount is obtained after de-fuzzification, so that parameter self-adaptive adjustment of a nonlinear error feedback control law is realized; and compensation amounts of the nonlinear error feedback control law and the expansion state observer to the total disturbance forms the control amount, thereby realizing optimal control for an controlled object. The method of the invention improves both tracking precision and disturbance rejection capability of the system.
