A chemical vapor deposition apparatus is disclosed. The chemical vapor deposition apparatus comprises a chamber having a base plate, a chamber wall, a gas inlet and a gas outlet. The base plate has holes therethrough. A plurality of electrodes extend through the holes of the base plate. The plurality of electrodes are capable of being attached to a power source. At least two of the plurality of electrodes are capable of being electrically coupled to a silicon rod positioned in the chamber. An electrical isolation bushing can be positioned between each of the plurality of electrodes and the base plate. The electrical isolation bushing comprises a sleeve portion surrounding a portion of the electrodes that extends through the base plate and a collar portion surrounding the holes at a surface of the base plate. In some instances, the collar portion can comprise a different material than the sleeve portion. In some instances, an isolation layer can be employed in addition to the isolation bushing, the isolation layer surrounding the holes at the surface of the base plate. In some instances, the collar portion and the sleeve portion are both ceramic.

Apparatus and method for electronic tire testing

A testing head for a high voltage non-destructive tire testing apparatus that is positionable inside the carcass of a tire to be tested without spreading the beads of the tire. The testing head includes a horseshoe shaped body portion with a pair of depending legs. An electrode is operably coupled at the end of each leg. One of the electrodes is attached to a high-voltage power source and the other electrode is attached to electrical ground. Each electrode may be attached off-center from the center of gravity of the electrode so that the electrode is positioned at an angle with the leg to which it is attached when the testing head is suspended by the body portion and the electrodes are not in contact with a tire or other surface. When the electrodes are brought into contact with the inner surface of the tire carcass, the electrodes rotate into a testing orientation wherein each electrode is substantially perpendicular with the leg to which it is attached. The tire carcass is rotated, so that a portion of the electrodes slide over the inner surface of the tire. The high voltage electrode inductively couples with steel belts in the tire carcass, thereby causing the steel belts to have an elevated electrical potential relative to ground potential. When either electrode passes over a flaw in the tire, an arc passes through the flaw between the steel belt and the electrode closest to the flaw.

The invention provides a system and method for rapidly detecting seepage of a geomembrane in a refuse landfill. The system comprises a mobile testing car, wherein the mobile testing car is matched with a testing probe, a signal processing circuit, a data acquiring system, a GPS (Global Position System) positioning device and a computer data analysis and model establishing system; and the testing probe is connected with the anode of a high-voltage (1000V) signal source through a lead, and the cathode of a high-voltage (1000V) direct signal source is connected with a high-voltage electrode. When a device for rapidly detecting seepage of the geomembrane in the refuse landfill is used for detection, large-scale soil aeration on the refuse landfill is not needed, and paving of a plurality of detecting electrodes is also not needed; and when seepage detection is carried out by using a high-voltage direct-current method, a seepage point can be rapidly searched through orienting and positioning by using a voltage field multi-dimensional vector analysis method which is different from the traditional plane voltage field analysis method. By using the GPS navigation of a vehicle-mounted detecting system, the detection process is accelerated, the detecting efficiency is increased, and the labor intensity is reduced.

The circuit and method facilitates repainting the ion beam over areas where an arc was detected to recover dose loss during such arcing. A high voltage high speed switching circuit is added between each high voltage supply and its respective electrode to quickly extinguish the arc to minimize disruption of the ion beam. The high voltage switch is controlled by a trigger circuit which detects voltage or current changes to each electrode. Protection circuits for the HV switch absorb energy from reactive components and clamp any overvoltages.
