Method and apparatus for monitoring alteration of flow characteristics in a liquid sample

A device for measuring blood coagulation time is formed from a first substrate; a second substrate; a spacer layer disposed between the first and second substrates, said spacer layer having an opening formed therein defining a sample receiving chamber, a vented sink chamber, and an elongated reservoir forming a conduit for liquid movement between the sample receiving chamber and the sink chamber; a first electrode disposed on the first substrate, said first electrode being exposed in the reservoir portion through a first opening in the spacer layer; and a second electrode disposed on the second substrate, said second electrode being exposed in the reservoir portion through a second opening in the spacer layer. The device of the invention is used in combination with an apparatus that is connected to the first and second electrodes for measuring current flow between the first and second electrodes. Changes in observed current are indicative of flow through the device, and a cessation of flow indicates coagulation.

Compound micro-porous cross-linked starch styptic powder

The invention provides compound micro-porous cross-linked starch styptic powder which is prepared by emulsification and cross-linking of one of purified water, potato starch, sodium alginate and sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, an emulsifying agent, a cross-linking agent and a dispersing agent as raw materials, wherein the emulsifying agent is selected from Span and Tween; the cross-linking agent is selected from glutaric dialdehyde, sodium trimetaphosphate, formaldehyde and epoxy chloropropane; and the dispersing agent is selected from paraffin and vegetable oil. The compound micro-porous cross-linked starch styptic powder has the following technical effects: micro-porous starch styptic materials are spherical particles extracted from plant starch and subjected to micro-porous treatment; when micro-porous polysaccharide styptic particles are put on a bleeding wound, the molecules of the particles absorb moisture in blood, and visible components in the blood are aggregated on the surfaces of the particles so as to form a gelatinous mixture, thereby achieving the effect of stopping bleeding in time; and meanwhile, activation of endogenous blood coagulation factors is accelerated, the blood coagulation time is shortened, a local clot is formed, and the styptic effect is finished within tens of seconds.

Automatic artery compression haemostat and hemostasis method

The invention discloses an automatic artery compression haemostat and a hemostasis method. The haemostat comprises a tourniquet. An airbag is arranged on the tourniquet and is connected with an air pump, a deflation valve and a pressure sensor. A pre-amplification device is connected with the output end of the pressure sensor. An output signal of the pre-amplification device is divided into two channels, one channel is directly sent to a port AD0 of the AD (analog to digital) conversion end of a single microcomputer chip, and the other channel is connected with a port AD1 of the AD conversion end of the single microcomputer chip through a pulse signal processing circuit. The single microcomputer chip controls movements of the air pump and the deflation valve through connection. The artery hemostasis with pressure measuring and timing functions is used for hemostasis, pressure as needed by compression of artery puncture points is set according to individual blood pressure values of patients, and compression time as needed by radial artery puncture points is set according to bleeding and blood coagulation time of the patients and half-life periods of anticoagulants used in operations, so that hemostasis effect of the artery puncture points is improved, comfort level of the patients is also improved, complications caused by ultrahigh or ultralow pressure are avoided, and working efficiency of medical workers is improved.

Method of measuring blood coagulation time to detect lupus anticoagulants

Provided is a method of measuring blood coagulation time which makes it possible to detect lupus anticoagulants more easily and with a higher degree of sensitivity in comparison to the method recommended by the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH), and which is not affected by blood-coagulation-factor deficiencies, even in blood samples from patients on warfarin, patients with vitamin K deficiencies and patients with hepatic insufficiency. The method for measuring blood coagulation time to detect lupus anticoagulants is characterized in that a buffering solution composition containing blood coagulation factors is added to a blood sample both before and during the measurement of the blood coagulation time, and the blood coagulation time is measured.
