The invention discloses a method for solving unbalanced tension of a continuous-gear overhead transmission line under single-end icing. A horizontal stress is supposed, the offset of the suspension insulator string by the step 1 is calculated to increase the span, the offset of the suspension string of each gear is calculated by the step 2, the offset of the insulator string is calculated by the step 3 according to the stress of the overhead line, and the steps 1-3 are repeated to calculate all parameters. If the obtained suspension string offset is close to 0, the requirements are met, the calculation results are received, otherwise, the horizontal stress is assumed again, and calculation is started again through the step 1 until the calculated suspension string offset meets the precisionrequirement. According to the method, a calculation formula of span variation under continuous-span single-end icing is provided, the unbalanced tension after single-end icing is solved by utilizingan 'equal-length line method' model, the requirement of engineering precision can be met, a simple, convenient and practical calculation program can be formed, and the method is suitable for engineering actual calculation.
