Methods for delivering tissue implant material with a high pressure applicator

This relates to an improved delivery system for accurately loading and controlling the delivery of flowable material to a patient. Particularly, the system may be used in the injection of hard tissue implant materials such as PMMA under pressures up to about 4000 psi. The system includes an applicator with a first column having an implant material introduction section adapted to provide for effective loading of the implant material and a second column housing a piston. The introduction section has a larger size than that of a vessel section or bore in which the requisite pressure seal between the piston and bore wall is formed. The first column may include an introduction section flared open to an included larger funnel-like opening or a separate funnel may be used that interfaces with the introduction section to facilitate the introduction of implant material. Handles on the first and second columns to be turned relative to each other to advance the columns toward each other may be provided for manual actuation of the applicator to drive implant material through a cannula and deliver implant material to a desired site.

A skin (metadata and GUI) overlays the media content and includes a set of markers associated with the selected media content, the markers with at least one of an elapsed time and a frame of the selected playable media content and including metatags relevant to the content of the media at the elapsed time or frame. The system includes a social networking and sharing platform and provides layers of meta-information that can be added, deleted, or edited without altering the original content. The system enables the tagging of objects within content and allows these objects to be matched to any category of interest, and allows sharing of such tags. The system enables ‘search & discovery’ by sorting and matching labels (e.g., title & description) and works with still image media, audio, or video.

Wind turbine generator

Disclosed is a wind turbine generator, which effectively uses wind velocity while generating a minimum of noise. Two blade assemblies, which are subjected to natural wind velocity to rotate for driving a power generator, are coaxially mounted one behind the other. When the front end and rear blade assemblies in this configuration both catch a wind to rotate, the rear blade assembly rotates as it catches not only the wind that comes from the front and is rectified by the front blade assembly, but also a wind that is generated by the front blade assembly, which is rotating. This enables the rear blade assembly to rotate with high efficiency and continuously rotate even when the wind velocity is low.

Digital wireless communications system and a wireless radio station with timing error compensation based on an accumulated timing error between reception of messages

In a time division multiple access wireless communication system, a wireless radio station performs a timing error compensation method. The wireless radio station receives messages including a synchronisation pattern. The wireless radio station adopts a power down mode between reception of messages, and accumulates a timing error representing an accumulated difference between expected times of arrival of the synchronisation patterns and actual times of arrival of the synchronisation patterns, during a predetermined time interval between reception of successive messages and before an expected reception of a next message. Thereafter, the wireless radio station at least substantially undoes the accumulated timing error, before the expected reception of the next message such that the timing error is compensated before the expected reception of the next message.

System, mechanism, and apparatus for a customizable and extensible distributed rendering api

A system and method for providing an Application Programming Interface (API) that allows users to write complex graphics and visualization applications with little knowledge of how to parallelize or distribute the application across a graphics cluster. The interface enables users to develop an application program using a common programming paradigm (e.g., scene graph) in a manner that accommodates handling parallel rendering tasks and rendering environments. The visualization applications written by developers take better advantage of the aggregate resources of a cluster. The programming model provided by APT function calls handles scene-graph(s) data in a manner such that the scene and data management are decoupled from the rendering, compositing, and display. As a result, the system and method is not beholden to one particular graphics rendering API (e.g. OpenGL, Direct X, etc.) and provides the ability to switch between these APIs even during runtime.
