Selective Rejection of Touch Contacts in an Edge Region of a Touch Surface

The selective rejection of touch contacts in an edge region of a touch sensor panel is disclosed. In addition, by providing certain exceptions to the rejection of edge contacts, the functionality of the touch sensor panel can be maximized. Contacts in edge bands around the perimeter of a touch sensor panel can be ignored. However, if a contact in the edge band moves beyond a threshold distance or speed, it can be recognized as part of a gesture. To accommodate different finger sizes, the size of the edge band can be modified based on the identification of the finger or thumb. Furthermore, if contacts in the center region of a touch sensor panel track the movement of contacts in the edge band, the contacts in the edge band can be recognized as part of a gesture.

Fluidics system for sequential delivery of reagents

The invention provides a passive fluidics circuit for directing different fluids to a common volume, such as a reaction chamber or flow cell, without intermixing or cross contamination. The direction and rate of flow through junctions, nodes and passages of the fluidics circuit are controlled by the states of upstream valves (e.g. opened or closed), differential fluid pressures at circuit inlets or upstream reservoirs, flow path resistances, and the like. Free diffusion or leakage of fluids from unselected inlets into the common outlet or other inlets at junctions or nodes is prevented by the flow of the selected inlet fluid, a portion of which sweeps by the inlets of unselected fluids and exits the fluidics circuit by waste ports, thereby creating a barrier against undesired intermixing with the outlet flow through leakage or diffusion. The invention is particularly advantageous in apparatus for performing sensitive multistep reactions, such as pH-based DNA sequencing reactions.

Backlight unit and liquid crystal display device using the same

Light emitted in side surface directions from side-emitting red, green, and blue LEDs which are arranged on an LED array substrate is introduced into a light guide from side surfaces of a groove-shaped recessed portion, and propagates in the light guide. Thus, the three colors are mixed. The light further propagates in the light guide while being reflected at both side end surfaces of the light guide by the function of a reflective sheet and the like. Thus, color mixing progresses. Further, the light is reflected upward by diffuse reflective means provided on the lower surface of the light guide, and emitted as backlight light to the outside through a diffuse sheet.

Apparatus and method for charging internal battery in wireless sensor network

Provided are an apparatus and method for charging an internal battery in a wireless sensor network. A method for a slave sensor node to charge an internal battery in a sensor network includes estimating an hourly chargeable electric energy rate in a scan phase with a master sensor node, transmitting the estimated hourly chargeable electric energy rate using an association request message requesting association with the master sensor node after recognizing the master sensor node, requesting charging from the master sensor node and performing wireless charging when a power level of an internal battery requires charging, reporting the power level of the internal battery varied by the wireless charging to the master sensor node by predetermined time periods during the wireless charging, and stopping the wireless charging when the power level reported to the master sensor node reaches a predetermined power level.
