A method and apparatus for illuminating the interior of the eye through the sclera without any contact to the eye. The apparatus contains a lamp element and optics that focus the light on the eye sclera. One or more fiber optics bundles may be used to convey the light from the light source close to the illuminated eye, ending with condensing optical elements. Alternatively, light could be conveyed by sharing the optics of an imaging system. It is useful for observing or imaging the interior of the eye, the retina, or the choroid. The observation or the imaging of the interior of the eye, the retina, or the choroid by applying the disclosed illumination method can be done in conjunction with any system that includes optics for that purpose, e.g., fundus cameras and ophthalmoscopes, without using those systems' illumination elements.

In operation, the sensor pod can be retracted into a compact, stowing position, or extended out an opening in the aircraft for an unobstructed field of view. The ratio of the surface concentration to the overall concentration is from 1.2 to 10. Additionally, the nitrogen-containing resin is preferably a polyester resin modified by urea bonds. Also, it is preferred that the toner particles are substantially spherical having an average sphericity E of from 0.90 to 0.99.

By controlling the number of delay elements prior to the application of the pulse to the trailing edge-generating component, the trailing edge can be adjusted by increments of the clock cycle determined by the number of delay elements. Because parameters of delay elements can vary, a technique for the calibration of the delay line circuit is disclosed.

The present invention provides a protein-chitosan complex coacervation food microcapsule system and a preparation method thereof. Proteins and sodium alginates or pectins are mixed and dissolved in an aqueous solution with a pH higher than 5.0, then mixed with a chitosan solution, and the pH value of the mixture is adjusted, and the mixture is stirred at a slow speed to conduct the complex coacervation reaction among protein-chitosan-sodium alginate or among protein-chitosan-pectin. The complex coacervation phase is collected after the mixture is centrifuged, then Ca2+ is added to enable the crosslinking reaction between -COO- and Ca2+ in the complex coacervation system, so that the stability of the protein-chitosan complex coacervation system is enhanced. The purpose of the crosslinking can be achieved just by controlling the added amount of sodium alginate or pectin and Ca2 + and the crosslinking time. The protein-chitosan complex coacervation food microcapsule system preparation method does not add any toxic and hazardous reagents, is simple and practicable, and safe and efficient in production process, is easy for large-scale production, and has broad market prospects for embedding various functional components.
