An example technique for managing a gesture-based input mechanism for a computing device described herein includes identifying parameters of the computing device relating to accuracy of gesture classification performed by the gesture-based input mechanism and managing a power consumption level of at least an infrared (IR) light emitting diode (LED) or an IR proximity sensor of the gesture-based input mechanism based on the parameters of the computing device.

The process has the steps of heating a solvent, such as propane, and then placing the solvent into the extraction chamber at a temperature and a pressure sufficient for the solvent to be in a vapor state in the chamber and to condense on the extraction surface. The next step is to produce a liquid blend of solvent and heavy oil and then to separate the solvent from said heavy oil. Then the solvent is purified, before being re-injected into the formation again. The purification step removes less condensable fractions from the solvent to ensure a purity that is high enough to support continued heat transfer at extraction conditions. The pressure and temperature are set to levels to cause less condensable fractions to drain away with the liquid bitumen and solvent blend that is produced, thus mitigating heat transfer poisoning.

Disclosed are methods for applying lossy materials to EMI shielded enclosures to improve EMI shielding effectiveness and the EMI shielded enclosures so produced. In some embodiments, the EMI shielded enclosure includes a printed-circuit board mountable device. In one embodiment, lossy material can be applied to the interior of an EMI shielded enclosure using an adhesive. In another embodiment, lossy materials can be applied to the exterior of the EMI enclosure to suppress EMI incident upon the EMI shielded enclosure, thereby reducing the susceptibility of electronics contained within the EMI shielded enclosure. In yet another embodiment, lossy materials can be applied to both the interior and exterior of the EMI enclosure.

A shock-absorber subassembly for a subsurface drilling assembly is disclosed. The shock-absorber subassembly comprises a mandrel, a body assembly, and at least one torsional spring assembly. The mandrel has a bore extending therethrough and has one end connectable to a portion of the subsurface drilling assembly. The body assembly has a bore extending therethrough and one end connectable to another portion of the subsurface drilling assembly. The body assembly is coupled to the mandrel to establish fluid communication between the bore of the mandrel and the bore of the body assembly and to permit planar rotational movement of the mandrel relative to the body assembly. The at least one torsional spring assembly engages the mandrel and the body assembly to absorb torsional shocks and vibrations between the mandrel and the body assembly and to limit the degree of planar rotation between the mandrel and the body assembly. In a second embodiment, the body assembly is coupled to the mandrel to permit axial movement as well as planar rotational movement.
